He had to admit, the Cotes Ward was beautiful.
The drastic difference to the rocky chasms of Fibonacci was overwhelming from the very first moment he set foot into the region the inhabitants called Rasen instead. What wouldn’t he give to live here instead, the mercenary mused as he eventually found himself at the center point of the whole district, the giant lake that took up nearly half of the entire Ward.
With a weary sigh, the man trudged past couples enjoying the relative serenity of morning and a couple of people walking their respective animals, past benches and picnic meadows, until he eventually ended up staring into the lake proper.
Christ, he was tired. He hadn’t slept before he arrived here. He hadn’t slept since he arrived here, only wandering around the city to orientate himself. His reflection stared back at him with restless eyes, that burned as the sun reflected off of his visage and cut into his optics. Suddenly, his body felt much heavier than before, his clothing clinging to him like sheets of lead and threatening to buckle his knees.
Just a moment. The water will wake me, just... just need to...
With another sigh, the grown man simply tipped forward - and fell into the lake face first with a huge splash, immediately going under despite how shallow the water actually was so close to the shore. The whole disaster was witnessed by at least 6 people, some of which shouted in alarm - but hadn’t moved yet due to surprise and general hesitation.
