“Don’t die for our selfish selves.”
Despite how distant the beast was, Yuna was still able to track it’s movement. Screams echoed - howls of those falling prey to the very thing she’d been raised to destroy. Bridges crumbled. Islands fell. Yet Yuna stood opposite the beast, her hold on her staff tight. Behind her stood her guardians.
Before her stood her death.
Whatever had brought her here had no doubt brought Sin as well. Yuna had prayed that Spira was safe in her absence - that somehow her death had brought about a Calm. Yet in saving Spira, she had no doubt brought about a great calamity to this place. There was one thing she could do, though. The trek was surprisingly short to the beast itself.
“…Don’t die for our selfish selves.”
The words caused the summoner to stop in her tracks. From the moment Sin had appeared, Yuna had forced herself to put on a gentle smile. The same smile she’d practiced time and time again. A distraction for her sadness. An act. The summoner glanced over her shoulder to the male who stood at the forefront of her group of guardians. Yori. Of course. The very first of her guardians. Of course he would be the one to voice dissent. Turning her body to face the group, Yuna smiled kindly. "I won’t die. Promise. In fact, I’m so confident that I’ll survive that I’m asking the rest of you to wait here!”
A smile. An act. A cover for what was about to take place. The morose look on her guardian’s faces told her that they weren’t buying it. However, Yuna didn’t let up. “Do you remember what I taught all of you?” It had been something she’d learned in her previous life. A precious memory. Something she’d shared with each guardian when they’d agreed to be her protector. A whistle - a sound so piercing that it could be heard over the loudest of crowds. Yuna’s smile grew brighter as she turned back to face Sin. In that moment, the female seemed so small and delicate against the backdrop of the massive beast before them.
“If we should get separated, just whistle. I’ll come running. I promise.”
In the days of aftermath as people gathered what they could and began to rebuild, the sounds of whistling could be heard over the din - like lost children calling to their mother.
Yet despite her promise, the summoner never returned.

❝Well Well, whatever do we have here?❞ Aoi spoke questioningly, looking at the male from a distance. He gave off an aura that didn’t exactly feel as though they might be human. Though Aoi began to wonder if non-humans (should they exist) could die as well? Yes demons could-- but spirits? Could they? Technically they were already dead-- right? As one could probably tell, Aoi didn’t respect spirits as she probably should. Regardless she walked up the the mysterious person, putting on her most cheerful face she could.
❝Hey there~ I’m new here~! I’m Aoi, Aoi Tachibana~ What’s your name sir~?❞

“ Stop!! ”
{{ ☣ }} Why were oranges so damned round? A simple incident of too many groceries stuffed into one bag -- the unfortunate happening of the bottom of a plastic bag breaking, sending all of said groceries plunging mercilessly towards the ground, dragged by the forces of gravity. And last but not least, the placement atop a slope; put these circumstances together, and you will get one Tsubasa yelling and chasing after the darned fruits that were now making their way downhill.

he’d spent the whole day walking around the island, scouting for stuff here & there and getting a general idea of what the afterlife had to offer. of course, he also kept his eyes peeled for anyone he knew but unfortunately was not greeted with any success by the end of his little adventure. he had reached the far side of the island, which was quite a bit of a walk from the residential tower, when he suddenly felt pain in his chest, as if something were PULLING at his heart. it wasn’t unbearable, but it caused enough discomfort that ranma decided to head back home.
he noticed that the pain steadily subsided, strangely enough, as he neared spiral’s end. by the time he reached his floor, he felt pretty normal. however, the boy had a strange inclination to head towards another room... he wandered a bit before standing, a bit dumbstruck, in front of someone else’s door. this is stupid, he thought, but knocked on the door anyway.
crap! what would he even say?
