‘Right Back to It’
My Saturday morning blood sugar was down some, to 155, without any walking but not so much for dinner after the big burger and tots for lunch Friday.
After our coffee and brain games we showered and got ready to go to the men’s recovery retreat fundraising breakfast. They had eggs and sausage and biscuits and gravy. And more coffee, thankfully.
And two speakers, Shane and his sponsee, Jay. Part of Jay’s share put us in mind of an old Poi Dog Pondering song, “Thanksgiving,” which we played on the way home: “Thanksgiving for every wrong move that made it right.”
Following the breakfast, we went to REI and bought me a rain jacket with a hood and two pairs of wool socks for us. Then we stopped by DSW for some shoes.
Back home at last, we had a wee nosh and then napped. When we got up it was raining. We may never be able to walk again.
I spent a little time working on a video, putting together some shots I took of leaves on the ground at a nearby park recently. It's been more than a year since posting a video to my YouTube channel. The “leafy” version may be ready soon.
For dinner we had a salad and a lasagna we bought at Trader Joe’s yesterday. It’s been a while since we had one of those. Probably because it was often too hot in Tucson to bake something for so long.
Then we streamed another episode of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” the first episode of the second series of “Sherwood” and, finally, another episode from the first series of “Tracker” in which Colter Shaw runs into fellow reward seeker Billie, a woman with whom he has some history. Turns out the two actors are married in real life. They previously worked together on a soap opera.
Also the show ended with the tune “Right Back to It,” by Waxahatchee, one of my favorite recent musical discoveries. I never get tired of listening to it. Nancy’s a fan, too.
Hello,
I know you may be tired of hearing from us, but Israel hasn’t grown tired of bombing, destruction, and displacement. Even those of us who escaped the war now face overwhelming challenges outside Gaza. We are living without residency permits, constantly fearing deportation, and urgently struggling to cover rent.
I never imagined I would have to ask for this, but I need your help to continue my master’s degree. I lost an entire year, and I’m afraid of losing this one too. I’ve already started attending classes, but I still can’t afford to register.
Your support would mean the world to me at this critical time. Thank you for standing with us.
Absolutely not tired, thanks for reaching out.

PLEASE HELP MY FRIEND
Hello I know I don’t have that big of a following on here but this is seriously a desperate situation. A good friend of mine is stuck in a horribly toxic and abusive situation and desperately needs to be able to move out of her current home and into a safe place. Right now all she wants is enough money to put down the rent and security deposit down on a place and to ensure that she and her dogs can get out quickly. So please reblog this, and remember that every little bit helps. The link to the Go fund me is at the end. https://www.gofundme.com/f/6pqkpts?sharetype=teams&member=1489264&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&pc_code=fb_co_dashboard_a&rcid=f8d22e62ea024f739a7293b275624367&fbclid=IwAR1Pk-4YF5uPLhz6Ew0Ax-u14-9dJXqD7Gl2uPICE0kZe16bdpvSJWvQfT0

Alliance Shoot-Out For The Arts – July 7, 1997
I just came across this picture, which was taken at Sherwood Country Club, in Thousand Oaks, California, about month after my 50th birthday. I had been golfing less than four years at the time. I was not scheduled to play in this tournament. In fact, I was actually working as a volunteer.
My job was to stand at the gated entrance to the club to…
