Come See My Film at OMSI!

One of my friends at Laika posted a super exciting message today on Facebook about one of our recent Portland collabs:

“Uhm, so, uh: FunKeyFrame is going to be screened at OMSI!

As part of a Reel Science/Kick Off event for OMSI’s Animation Film Festival Weekend taking place Sept 16-18. The event will include a lecture about the new film, Kubo and the Two Strings followed by 7 shorts by LAIKA employees.  And since FunKeyFrame screened at Laika, it'll get shown there!

Date: Thursday, September 15 Event time: 6:30-9:30pm Location: OMSI’s Empirical Theater Parking: Parking is free for evening events and you can park in any of the OMSI lots”

This project was a blast, there are so many talented animators in Portland! I created the first segment with the ballet/break dancer, which was animated on 3″x5″ notecards using an iPad as a lightbox, then captured with my iPhone. Why? Because I was traveling abroad in Tokyo, Japan.
