My new (used) furby arrived today! Unfortunately it didn't turn on when I put fresh batteries in.

I need repair advice! I started with trying the reset button, and then turning it upside down and spanking it to get the gears back in place. That didn't work, so I removed the fur and manually turned the motor gear on the bottom left from the mouth.

My furby talked! But didn't move? I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice?

My dad and I worked on troubleshooting Eggie’s speaker today. It’s completely broken, as we found, but experimenting on powering Princess with a power source and hooking her up to multiple wires and machines was FUN!!! Eggie even got to speak for the first time when I applied his new speaker! I don’t know if I’ll permanently fix him or not, but his tiny voice was super cute.

98 speaker specs are 40mm .25v 32ohms , which are relatively cheap on eBay 🤗

Anyone have advice on how to soften a furby's fur? I'm trying to figure out the best spa routine.

I've read a couple places recommend hair conditioner or fabric softener for fake fur, but I'm not sure how well they work or if they'd damage the fibers.

It’s been a furby repair kinda week- CS figured out how to use a soldering iron, so her furby boom’s tickle sensor is now reattached (it had sheared off at the attachment point after shipping back in 2019-ish) and working great! Second thing to figure out is that for some reason my childhood furby has decided to become mute, despite being carefully stored in a pigeon-hole shelf away from bumps and knocks and working a few months ago >:c ...At least this is an excuse to open up a classic furb and possibly install a new novel speaker?
