slightly older drawing from like half a year ago that I never posted, was doing a bit of experimenting with the colours
Nora v the Furious Cat?
Nora slammed her hammer into Neo, arms shaking as she watched the girl grin as if nothing could hurt her. And to make matters worse, when she showed up, she destroyed the remembrance wall for the lives that were lost when Atlas fell. Memories of the Atlas and Mantle citizens that couldnt be saved, memories of team RWBY and Jaune destroyed in a moment of rage… it was like she had lost them all over again.
“That… that was quite the hit,” “Neo” had said as she picked herself up, the blue and purple arms starting to lose color as they grew angrier. “But I wont let you stop me!”
“What is wrong with you?” Nora yelled out as she dodged a few swipes, shaking as she started into the cat-like eyes Neo sported. Her legs shook as she moved out of the way and readied her hammer once more. “Why cant you leave us alone?!”
“Neo” landed a hit on Nora, the claws nearly slicing through her aura as she continued. “I dont want anything to do with you, I want to find my creators and find out why they left me! But that wall… those faces you left on them, the same faces of the people who tried to stop me before I ripped them to shreds-”
Nora slammed her hammer against “Neo” once more, freezing as she watched the girl go limp and a large, grey cat-like creature stumble on its hind legs as it tried to get its bearings. She slowly lowered her hammer as everything started to sink in, that her friends, her team leader, had been alive before this… thing got to them. “What… what did you do to Juane? A-and Ruby, Blake, Weiss, and Yang?”
The cat clutched its head for a moment and stopped itself from shaking as it looked over at Neo, frowning a bit. “At least that one served its uses for now. I’m on Remnant and can finally ask my creators-”
“Answer me dammit!” Nora yelled as she swung her hammer at the cat once more, eyes widening as it stopped with its hand.”
“I told you I want nothing to do with you. All I want to know is why my creators abandoned me! But I see I’m going to have to deal with you the same way I had to deal with your friends.”
Nora pulled back as the head of her hammer snapped off the handle, causing her to lose her balance. With a quick look to her left, she spotted Ren next to her, weapons at the ready. She took a deep breath and steadied herself and glared at the Furious Cat. “I wont let you hurt anyone else and I will make you pay for what you’ve done to my friends!”
The cat grinned as it welcomed the challenge and tossed the hammer head away from him. “Then I’ll break you just like I broke them.”
Nora nodded towards Ren and took a breath as she lunged for the Furious Cat. She winced as she felt the sting of a lightning dust bullet, and then felt the Furious Cat grab her with its claws and throw her into a nearby building.
“Is that all you can do?”
“Not quite,” Nora said as electricity started to run across her scars, causing them to glow slightly. She picked up the broken shaft of her hammer and swung at the Furious Cat. “Now leave!”
The Furious Cat felt itself get pushed back from the hit, yowling as it moved away from Nora. It glared, then ran away as quickly as it came.
Nora dropped to her knees and took a few breaths to calm herself, shaking. She flinched as she felt Ren put a hand on her shoulder, her voice shaking as she spoke. “They… they were alive…”
Ren nodded and sighed. “We should get some rest in case that thing comes back.”
“We… we could’ve saved them if we had been better-”
“And right now, we have to move forward.” Ren slowly helped Nora up and pulled her close. “For them. They gave everything in order to make sure we could be safe.”
Nora nodded and looked out towards the edge of the city, watching the tents that were lined up at the edge of the desert. “Then we have to get started.”
