Moreover, if I had had the time I probably would have immediately reread it. (Life is just too crazy right now. But at least I have that to look forward to!) ✏️ Do you write every day?

I try to when I have time/brain space. Work's also been really busy lately, so I have even less writing time.

Lately I've been in a slump, so if I write at all during the week, then I'm happy.

💻 Do you do research for your fics? What’s the deepest dive you’ve done?

I do, sometimes, depending on what it is.

I regularly look things up on TFwiki. Sometimes that doesn't help because I run into a timeline that even a careful explanation can't unravel and my brain melts or I can't find what I was looking for.

If I need to double-check certain terminology for something, I go digging in specialist dictionaries. Having once been a linguist is sometimes helpful here.

The deepest dive I've done is for incredibly nitpicky materials research to determine if something would catch on fire or cause sparking when struck.

😐 What embarrasses you most about your own writing?

All of it. The fact that I wrote it.

Actually, I'm going to be nitpicky: I'm embarrassed that I struggle with stereotypically romantic kissing on the mouth? I hate it. I do everything I can to avoid writing a kiss on screen and when I do, I am embarrassed of it the entire time because in my aro brain: it's a fundamentally strange thing to do despite having been married for nearly a decade.

💖 What do you like most about your own writing?

I like my ability to do character voices. I actually don't notice while writing how they feel, but I have been told by others that this is one of my strong points.

🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

I'm still proud of finishing MegaRod Week, even if I was incredibly late, but I finished it!

🌙 What time of day do you prefer to write? Why?

When I'm on the clock and it's slow.

Actually, these days, it's in the morning before sunup. When I was younger and still a drinker, I preferred to write at night.
