I'm not sure if any specific fallacy were committed here, but I can easily argue against the point they were making regardless. Trump's Jerusalem plan arguably caused Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel which is what gave Israel justification for this war. Hamas outright called for intifada due to Trump's policy.

There is some weird thing where people blame whatever administration was currently elected during any sort of catastrophe. People don't seem to care whether or not the administration in question is at fault or how well they handled it. A great example is Trump's administration during covid. His administration SHOULD be criticized for its handling of covid, not simply because covid happened under that administration.

We know what Trump believes about the Israel Palestine conflict. We know what policy he has already put in place. Anyone who thinks Biden or Kamala are not vastly superior on this topic are simply wrong. It's just objective fact.

Just look at this. This is what Trump's future plans are for Israel. Win the war fast! Sounds good, right? The irony is that he's essentially just telling them to act faster and more carelessly. He is pushing them to WIN the war, which includes securing all the hostages. He has heavily implied America itself will intervene if the American hostages aren't returned when he enters office.

Trump has outright said "do what you have to do" in a phone call to Netanyahu. Even if you think the Democrats are too soft, surely it's better than Trump which appears to be outright genocidal, seemingly all for his own political gain.

Anyways, sorry to spam you with this massive post. Hopefully someone gets some use out of it.

Seeing as how furryprovocateur is currently 30, that means he was probably all of 9 when the Second Iraq War started. So, of course he doesn't remember how not only most American politicians, but most American citizens, were all gung-ho to invade Iraq on what turned out to be a bunch of bullshit.

I was repeatedly called a terrorist at anti-war demonstrations by irate counter-protesters and the Dixie Chicks got cancelled by dipshits for daring to criticize Bush and received multiple death threats from "patriots." And Jacques Chirac refusing to join the war led to a wave of anti-French sentiment and the frankly ridiculous move of renaming French fries "freedom fries".

In other words, no, furryprovocateur, Hillary Clinton and numerous other Democratic politicians thinking the Second Iraq War was a good idea in 2003 was far from an unusual sentiment.

Ditto for lack of support for gay marriage. The striking down of the last anti-sodomy laws also in 2003 was controversial as it was.
