Anyone wanna read my Catholic take on Wake Up Deadman? I spent all morning working on it.

My initial thoughts about it were proven both right and wrong. And I go way way way in depth about the parts that took me out of the story.

But I’m fine keeping it as a draft of no one is interested. I just needed to get my thoughts down.

I just realized, it’s (unofficially) summer now. I have a goal to fill up one of my notebooks with writing by the (unofficial) end of summer. I’ve haven’t written anything since before Memorial Day.

I need to get started on that.

I am! I actually recently started a re-watch of clone wars with my sister and her boyfriend. I’ve got a vacation coming up, so I plan on hitting down a bunch of notes at the very least.

Any ideas for a good “evil organization pretending to be good guys” name? They think they’re demi-gods and have a divine right to rule.

Right now I’m using DRUID as a placeholder, but I’ve never liked it. It’s been years and I’ve yet to come up with anything better.

I miss having writer friends IRL. I need someone I can brainstorm with because I have all the pieces for my story, but getting them to fit-

Who can I rant aloud at about magical girls and evil organizations with good publicity and the running of coffee shops and all the thought I put into regarding hybrid species and religion in a world where one race looks demonic and the intricacies of shape shifting and sewing vs knitting vs weaving as fiber crafts and their usefulness for magic until it finally makes sense?

Yes, all these things are related!

Could I perhaps sell you my alternative theory concerning Barriss's fall, where it has more to do with her and Luminara's shared distress over the war, which Barriss grows unable to handle? (if I'm overstepping bounds here I'm really sorry and please ignore me)

Hey Nony! You are not overstepping any bounds. I just... can't remember what this is referring to? In my defense, it's been about a year since you sent this.

It's interesting to think that Luminara's distress added to Barriss' issues, but I think part of why Barriss fell so quickly and so quietly is because she didn't think Luminara or any of the Jedi were as distressed as she thought they should be. By the time she fell, she was convinced the Jedi were the bad guys, or at least as bad as the Sith were.

NaNoWriMo Day 2.

I did not meet the goal of 1667 words yesterday, but I came close. Not a bad start. I need to finish my bullet journal tracker, though…

I let my sister know my plans to try again this year. So I now have some accountability as, due to my current employment status, I can only afford to go to the coffee shop once per day (if even) and must decide daily if it’s more important to write or socialize. She’ll keep me honest. Hopefully, the interview tomorrow will yield results.

I’m revisiting one of my earliest stories. I just skipped most of the intro chapters, as I can’t decide if I want to keep it the full isekai it was over 15 years ago when I wrote the initial one page idea down, or if I want to tweak it. It’s a lot easier to write a first draft when you allow yourself to summarize and put notes in the story itself as needed.

Yes. You read that right. I’ve been sitting on this particular story idea since… high school? Either freshman or sophomore year. I’d have to dig out the old notebooks to be sure. I come back to it every so often, and while I actually have a rough idea of how the whole story goes (for once), I kept getting caught in the details. Not this time, though! I’m just gonna hot the story beats and clean everything up later. Like you’re supposed to.

Anyway, day 2.

146 words in, hoping to hit 1000 before I go home and work on chores. Will keep you updated.
