Had a good last firing before we tear down the kilns and move them to their new permanent home later this summer. I’ve really enjoyed the past few years out here, diving deeper into wood firing and developing a more mature and respectfully chill attitude towards clay. I’ll be looking forward to easing up the next couple months to rest and work on my house, and think about new forms while I get back to some gas kiln firing in the studio with way more color lol. Should be unloading this kiln on Thursday.

Hey. What level of social dysfunction is it when I feel weird about calling my dad just to call. I love my dad and want to talk to him. I know he would love for me to call. Why do I feel like I'm trudging through wet sand to do it

can now play the first verse of satanized on guitar (i am a complete beginner so i'm crawling along) which would make me an excitable mess if my string bending didn't sound like one of those tubes

#the groan tubes. u know the ones #i'm rushing this tbf i need to do some more research #and practice #i've had this guitar for a while but then got problems w my hands so i've only just started getting consistent with it #i'm motivating myself by going through things i recognise & love before i go back to the beginner lessons #tbf it's not plugged in atm so maybe the string bending will sound better when it is #i dont know #i found out what string bending was like an hour ago #i sound so clueless. because i am #tangent but it's weird to start playing a Tune i know on guitar vs piano #with piano i can kind of keep going and figure it out myself #with guitar i'm less aware of where to get all these notes from #so it feels like i should be able to just carry on w a simple little tune like piano but nope #it feels amazing though. the beginner hurdle seems to be so much less intense for guitar #vs piano lol #i think if i look back at these tags in a year i'm going to cringe at myself #but we all start somewhere #when i've got some more income i'll get some proper lessons so someone can fix my self taught mistakes #maybe eliminate the groan tube problem
