there was something nice about being in a new place with friends. not that he was still really sure if he could call john a friend anyway. at least he was someone that he could count on to watch his back if bad shit happened to go down. "god," bob rubbed a little too aggressively at his eyes. "you know, i wish the invincibility shit meant that i wouldn't get eye strain from looking at a screen too long. i gotta get the hell out of here." he turned his head slightly to look at the other man. brigitte couldn't tell anyone how she'd gotten to be friends with the firefighter, not that she really could remember herself. she'd never had an older brother, but she imagined that it would be something like whatever relationship she had with buck. in a perfect world, anyway. it could always be something like whatever she had with ginger. "i got some pretty good pictures of that fire the other day," brigitte said as she passed her camera across the table towards him. brigitte snuck a fry from his plate as she nodded to herself. "i figured who better to show than the fire expert!"

helaena would be lying if she said she didn't like london. it was close enough to home without all of the responsibility that came with it. if she really had to think about it, she thrived here more than she did back home even though she missed her family. a place couldn't change how much she got lost in her thoughts though and it wouldn't be the first time she slammed into someone on the street as she went on a walk. "oh! my apologies, i- jacaerys!" she could barely contain the excitement as she recognized her nephew. "how are you? have you been here long? it's so wonderful to see you!"

clear could remember all of it clear as day. all of her friends dying could play behind her eyelids like some kind of fucked up movie. but london seemed to throw all of that away like it never happened. alex was here. terry was here. it was only a matter of time... "holy shit," she walked up and grabbed the man by the shoulder and spun him to face her. "carter? holy shit." clear nearly shouted as she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. "it's actually so good to see you, you idiot."

"Honestly? No, it wasn't." Juvenal's eyes widened a little as he watched another handful of branches collapse, caving in the small den he'd managed to build himself out of mud, leaves and sticks in Holland Park. "It...It's fine. Can you just...get a few more branches to prop it back up? I need to dig it open again..." He paused, sighing as he tried to figure out what he was supposed to do. "This wasn't normally my job. I'm still...I'm still learning."

"Seven years I was locked up. Seven long-ass years. Only thing keeping me going the whole time? Sarah. She had it all and I was lucky enough to have had a taste of it." he chuckled sleazily to himself. "But, here's the thing, alright? I get out, first thing I do? Alright, well, maybe not the first thing I do, but, either way, I go to see her. There she is, in another man's arms." He leaned in closer, all joy gone from his features. "My own damn brother. Betrayed me like it was nothing."
