[14:12] It pained Megumi beyond words, to realize that you didn't believe him fully when he told you he loved you.
Sure, he didn't do it very often, saving those special words for special occasions, but he hoped the sincerity in his voice would be enough to convince you.
Regardless, he did not blame or push you on the matter. He simply willed himself to try and show his devotion more often or more efficiently.
"Come on, Gumi! Are we close yet?" You asked impatiently once more as you blindly walk forward, blindfold over your eyes as you're lead by your boyfriend to some 'surprise' he had planned for you.
"Almost there, be patient, baby." He said grumpily. Your arms were stretched out before you, hoping to avoid bumping into anything Megumi might miss, but you trusted him and his abilities, so you weren't too worried.
"Alright, we're here." He said cryptically, stepping to your side as you removed your blindfold. You saw a blanket laid on the grass beneath the trees, somewhere just off of the school, the sun shining down through the gaps between the foliage.
"Where are we?"
"This... Is my special place. It's where I go whenever I need time to think or meditate. I wanted you to be the first to know about it." Megumi said tenderly, blushing as he approached the blanket before sitting down and pating the space next to himself invitingly.
Your chest tightened at his honest and vulnerable tone. Just the fact that he'd decided to bring you to his safe space, his own little paradise, and no one else was enough to melt your heart.
You sat next to him, offering a fond smile as you laid your head on his shoulder before his own laid on yours, eyes closed in undisturbed bliss as you enjoyed the feeling of the wind brushing your hair as the sun caressed your face, warming it besides the blush.
Megumi turned to you, silently admiring your peaceful expression, the one he always hoped to see and the one he always got when visiting this spot, he was unbelievably happy to be able to share it with you and see how you seemed to feel the same peace of mind he felt as he spent his time there shadowed by the trees.
"I love you." He whispered softly, words carried by the wind before you opened your eyes to his bright with love and sincerity.
Perhaps you didn't fully believe it yet, but you got it just a little better after he showed you what was essentially a piece of his heart, the he gave to you.
