You know, I'm more and more convinced that Peridot's chart is not really referring to characters' relationships. The moment one of these "foreshadowings" became true, we would have the key to spoiler pretty much all of the series, and it would not make sense. Probably, the chart hints to something that will happen in one single episode, which will recall this one somehow.
Yeah, shipping is a big deal in every fandom, I doubt the crewniverse would think that spoiling a bunch of pairings so obviously is a good idea. I definitely think the chart is hinting at something in the future, but I don't think it's romance either.
My friends and I watched the first half of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, and Gotenks was onscreen for maybe 30 seconds tops, and that was somehow enough to inspire me to try and draw DBZ-style fusions of the Sword Founders. So that’s something everyone will probably be subjected to at some point.
