how does drake see future?

drake thinks future is a very good example of someone who’s actually made it on his own, the true definition of “getting it out the mud.” he sees this success as partly luck (like he knows future has a lot of random unpredictable hits), he resents how generous future is and how much he wants to help other people - it’s like he sees it as arrogance, that future wants to play God or something, but this is out of jealousy, he’s mad he can’t be that way. he also hates that he knows future is confident and actually really loves who he is. he thinks future is materialistic and all about money, and will do anything to get more, like “i don’t know why you act like you’re better than anyone when you care about money just like the rest of us do.” he sees future as someone who is very cold and unforgiving. like he either likes you or he doesn’t, and it’s hard to win him over again if he doesn’t. he knows future can be vengeful. drake is definitely intimated by future.

how does future see drake?

future feels he sees right through drake in a sense that drake just can’t fit in with their peers (too canadian, too suburban, too nerdy) and that he’s fake because of this and constantly putting on some sort of act. he acts like he knows more than he does, and when he does actually know something he acts like he doesn’t because he doesn’t want people to know what he knows - a massive gatekeeper (even if it’s small like a cool restaurant he likes, he won’t let you know what it’s called until you see it in person because he’s the one taking you there) - no free knowledge. basically, future thinks drake is fake and never authentic, either playing dumb to acting smarter than he is. he thinks drake has decent social skills, but not enough to actually hide who he is.

he thinks drake is highly promiscuous, but in a gross way (and he also thinks drake is bisexual, but really weird about it), he knows drake is really passive aggressive and future has been letting it slide for a very long time, he thinks drake has been a major asshole to him in subtle and pathetic ways and future has genuinely not cared because he tries his best to not let things bother him (but also because he genuinely believes he’s better than drake). but now, he’s mad to the point that if drake ever wanted to squash this whole thing, any attempts at reconciliation or apologizing to future would just fall on deaf ears.
