Just- Like- After they graduate university and as the cute boyfriends they are- they're living together, and then one day, Rei comes home from work, Nagisa is nowhere to be seen, and a little box is sitting on the table in the living room. Rei curiously goes over and opens it- and tears well in his eyes when he sees a gold band with 'my butterfly' engraved on it.
