i really cannot emphasize enough how INCREDIBLY fucked up it is that interplay and later obsidian took the name of the real life still living federally recognized tribe the blackfeet and... applied it to a group of white raiders described as being incapable of providing for themselves and incompetent at fighting, practically straight out of a colonialist stereotype of the horrible uncivilized savages who just needed to be fixed by integrating into white society

like, it is literally repulsive and unbelievably racist that anyone at any point thought this was acceptable to write. and simultaneously wrote the real blackfeet out of existence by carefully never acknowledging that actual natives even exist in the fallout setting
