A phone. Daryl had refused the ride upon his arrival, but the driver insisted he take the pamphlet and his items. Included were a toy cross bow, a note with what appeared to be an incomplete map that led to a single destination marked “home”, and a cell phone. When he made it to the Golden Ward, he took it out of his pocket to stare at and fiddle with it. He’d never owned one in his life, didn’t have the first clue about how they worked. It was dark until his finger slipped and he hit a button on the side - then it lit up and shone right in his face.
Daryl stopped in his tracks, taken aback by the sudden and (admittedly bright) light in his eyes. Unfortunately, such a sudden movement caused someone to bump into him, which then caused the phone to fly out of his hands toward a young stranger.
