THE duo in the marine! I just love the connection this two have. They care for each other so much, they are family for the other. Both awesome characters with a good sense of justice. It's such a shame they no longer have much significance in the story.

One piece Episode 605-608

I really love G-5. I mean, I really, really love these dorky, goofy, pail-as-hat-wearing idiots. When the group that managed to throw Tashigi through the gate froze, that one tear frozen on that guy’s stone face was just poignant. As were the poses of the others - frozen in helping each other.

I kinda headcanon that Luffy has had a bigger impact on Smoker than he realizes. You have this kid cleaning up the East Blue, then saving a country, then taking on the world for his nakama, returning the shadows of thousands to the world, Marines included, then the whole Marineford (which I’m still in denial over, no matter how much time has passed) fiasco where Luffy risked everything for his brother - then we come to Punk Hazard and we see Smoker leading G-5 and instead of a group of terrible soldiers, like they had been known as for years, in 2 years he’s got them whipped into shape (well... partially), following orders - and acting like FAMILY.

Smoker has seen the power that the Strawhats posess and he believes it’sfrom their willingness to work for, live for and die for each other (if necessary) and he’s somehow managed to get these dorks to do the same. And I love it!

I also love the man-crushes they all have on Sanji. AO3 didn’t have the G-5 down as a tag when I last checked, but I would love to see more fics expanding on G-5 (and their crushes on Sanji, seriously, it’s so cute).

Is...is G-5 really trying to tell the children who just escaped from a former government facility and human experimentation that pirates, the people who saved them, are awful while the navy, the people who are partially responsible for their abduction, are the good guys? While they can still see the pirates and are still on the island? That's not really a good idea.

Edit: Oh they are doing this to convince themselves.
