Hey momma, can I request a kpop scenario (don’t care who) based on the song Burn from Hamilton? If not, it’s okay. It’s just such a good song and saw you were a fan of the musical too. Love your work :) – Anon Alli
You dropped the phone from your hands.
This couldn’t be happening. It wasn’t real. There was no way.
You sat in stunned silence for an unknown amount of time before your phone started ringing off the hook. By the time you came out of your haze, you had four texts and four missed calls.
None of them were from Jiyong.
It was then you heard the knocking on your door.
“Y/n…Y/n, let me in” You heard your sister say from the other side of the door.
You scrambled to the door, vision skewed from the tears pooling in your eyes.
“Oh honey, are you okay?” She asked, wrapping both arms around you tightly.
“I– I don’t know– I don’t know what’s happening” you said. You were lost, and confused, and hurting so much.
“I know what’s happening, and I’m going to kill him” your sister said, not even trying to hide the anger in her voice.
“You can’t know the whole story from one picture” You found yourself defending him out of instinct.
“Y/n, are you hearing yourself?! You’re seriously going to defend him right now?” She asked, letting her arms fall from around you.
“We’ve been plagued by rumors before” you said weakly.
“I’m sure..I’m sure..” but you couldn’t finish your sentence. The truth was, you weren’t sure of anything anymore.
“Rumors yes. But pictures? PROOF?! Look again and tell me you’re not sure what is happening. The whole world has already seen these pictures!”
She pushed the phone in front of your face. All you could see was another woman wrapped lovingly in Jiyong’s arms as he kissed her passionately.
You thought back to the beginning of your relationship eleven years ago. Jiyong was still a trainee having yet to debut. You’d worked as an intern with YG entertainment for the summer. Jiyong sat with you for lunch your first day..and that was the beginning of a whirlwind romance.
There were sweet date nights at your place, late night phone calls from his practice, and even group events under the disguise of you still being an intern.
Then he debuted.
Things didn’t change at first. Your relationship was still strong; just, in secret. It wasn’t until you’d been together for 5 years that management let you guys go public. And once you had, things became even better. You could go out in public together and date like a real couple.
The first rumor of infidelity hit around the 7 year mark. Jiyong and YG were quick to deny any rumors. Six months later you were engaged.
You had been in the industry long enough to know people will take any interaction and spin in it an unfavorable light. You trusted Jiyong with your whole heart.
That’s where you went wrong.
There was no denying it anymore. But you couldn’t help but wonder how long you’d been blind to it for.
Two days later found you sitting in a conference room at YG, faced with Jiyong for the first time. You had been waiting for him to reach out to you…but it never came.
“We can spin this so it’s not so bad” you heard his publicist say.
“How the fuck do you spin that?!” You aked Iosing composure.
“Y/n, please calm down” Jiyong said in a placating tone.
“Excuse me?”
“We can have you guys make a public announcement together” his publicist said as if you hadn’t spoke at all.
“No.”
“Be an adult about this” Jiyong said, almost begging.
“Adult? You wanna be an adult? You should have thought of that before you went public with someone else.” You weren’t yelling anymore. There was no point. It’s happened and now there’s just the fallout.
“You can tell the public you guys were in a rough spot but you’re better now” the publicist suggested.
“No.” There was no way you were doing that.
“You can’t just not say anything” Jiyong argued.
“I can and I will” You stood firm in your feelings.
“You don’t get to use me to your advantage in this situation” you said in a low voice.
“This is going to negativity effect Jiyong” his publicist pointed out, hoping to change your mind.
“Maybe he should have thought about that. I’m not going to be a pawn. I’m not going to let people talk about me. I’m not going to let you get away with this unscathed. You should have thought about that before you brought this girl into your bed” tears had started working their way down your face.
“What about me? What about my life. The fact that I have to find a new home. The fact that I won’t be able to associate with half of my friends because they’re only my friends because of you. The fact that I’m dying and you wouldn’t even text me. You’ve ruined our lives.”
“What do you mean find a new place?” Jiyoung asked, genuinely confused.
“What? You think you can just sleep in your office instead? I’m leaving you Jiyong”
“You’re not serious.” It wasn’t even a question, but a statement. Jiyong didn’t believe you’d ever leave him.
“I am. I’m erasing myself from the narrative. You can say whatever it is you’d like. Be who you want the public to see you as. It’s enough for me that I know the truth.”
“So that’s it? Please, can you just help me out?” Jiyong asked, defeat marring his tone.
