These are some sample papers that I received from an industry talk with G.F Smith paper company. It was exciting to see how wide the variety of paper textures and weights were and i hope to use some of them in the end product of the book.

G.F SMITH PAPER X MADE THOUGHT
Made Thought has created a new sample book for G.F Smith which uses colour-sequenced photography to showcase eight of the company’s printing paper.
The Fine Collection uses photography to demonstrate the print performance of eight G.F Smith paper types. Images are arranged by colour and include some beautiful shots of waterfalls, beaches, buildings and wildlife.
Over 10,000 photographs were uploaded to G.F Smith’s website following an open call for submissions and 66 were chosen to appear in the book. (You can see the full set, arranged in colour order, on G.F Smith’s website). Contributors include Ben Ingham, Luke Tonge, Sam Hofman and Daniel Freytag.
Professional Practice - G.F Smith Brief
This is my final outcome for my Paperchase inspired mail, screen printing onto my G.F Smith paper.

Professional Practice - G.F Smith paper project
Take an electronic/paper email and make it into something physical. I choose a piece of mail from Paperchase because it was a prefect opportunity to experiment with patterns and try different printing techniques.
I decided to screen print my designs and patterns onto my G.F Smith paper because the colours really stand out against the green paper I choose.
Unfortunately when I screen printed onto my yellow paper, the pattern didn’t seem to print as well as I would have hoped. I still have a couple more patterns to screen print but this G.F Smith project has been very enjoyable!

Printing Techniques - Screen Print & Risograph
Been really busy over the past couple of days, trying out different printing techniques for my G.F Smith brief. Didn’t know that screen printing was such a long process, but definitely enjoyable. Obviously not prefect or finished but looking forward to developing my screen printing skills.
It was my first time trying out the risograph as well, I do not like how the blue on the yellow paper has turned out. I would of liked it to be a lighter shade of blue, however happy that I have tried it out.

Geometric Patterns.
With this pattern I have created my next step is to experiment with different printing techniques such as screen printing or using the risograph onto my G.F Smith paper samples.
