This beautiful folio, called Edo Tōkyō Kamisukishi Kō by Yoshikuni Seki, is about the history and techniques of paper making in Tokyo, Japan. The book includes vibrant illustrations of the paper making process, including the creation of the pulp (second image down from the top) and soaking the pulp in water (left image second from the bottom). It also has various Japanese paper samples that have been pasted inside the book. Featured are just a few of my favorites.

The feedback I received from the last project suggested I should think about different paper styles and weights I went ahead and ordered a few paper samples from G. F. Smith to get a feel of what would work for my packaging as I don’t want flimsy paper and I don’t want too thick paper to where it’s hard to cut and make my template.
These are some sample papers that I received from an industry talk with G.F Smith paper company. It was exciting to see how wide the variety of paper textures and weights were and i hope to use some of them in the end product of the book.
