Take me to Chestnut Ridge ❤
Before long, their kiss was interrupted by the sound of a door opening and laughter from the porch.
Sidney: About time you two got here! Ted, put the poor girl down and introduce us, will you!
Teddy and Josie broke apart and Teddy took Josie's hand, leading her to the house.
Teddy squeezed Josie's hand and Josie squeezed back. Walking to the porch, they spoke quietly so Sidney and Gloria wouldn't hear.
Teddy: Let's do this. I can't wait for you to meet them.
Josie: They look so excited. I like them already!
Teddy spends the next few hours dancing with Josie, trying to put Sidney's words to the back of his mind. Could she really be hiding something?
It's the early hours of the morning when the guests start to leave so Dale and Morgan pick out a slow song for the final dance.
Josie: Are you looking forward to going home tomorrow?
Teddy: Ugh, so much! Don't get me wrong, it's been nice seeing everyone and today has been incredible, but I can't wait to get back to Chestnut Ridge!
Josie: I can't wait to do this with you again at our wedding.
Teddy: Same here. But I've been thinking about what you said earlier-
Josie: Not here, Teddy. Another time, ok? Come on, let's say goodnight to everyone and go upstairs. It's a long journey home tomorrow.
Josie: I fought with them for hours but it didn't get me anywhere. Their original plan was for Wyatt and Jess to get married, but after she left that wasn't an option.
That's why they'd kept me shut in the house all those years, so I couldn't do what she did.
I was desperate. I tried to find Mrs Murata only to find out Mom had fired her and made her leave without saying goodbye.
I couldn't face the idea of being trapped in that life forever, so I did the only thing I could think of.
I went to the cliffs next to my house...
Josie: My teenage years were lonely and boring. I didn't get to do any of the things teens are supposed to do. Then on my young adult birthday, Mom said we were having a party.
She'd bought me a new dress and even let me wear her best jewellery. She was actually nice to me...
Snowy sunsets in Riders' Glen ❤
Teddy put his guitar back on the stand and pat the bed next to him, inviting Josie to join him.
Teddy: Did you have fun? How's Dani?
Josie: They're good! Glad to be back home I think. The restaurant is really nice as well. But Dani asked me something whilst we were out...
Teddy: Sounds ominous... Should I be worried?
Josie: Maybe? No, I think it's a good thing. Dani needs help with the nectar business now Marissa is gone and they asked if I wanted to join. We would be partners!
Teddy: Sounds good to me... What's wrong with that? Don't you want to?
Josie: No, I do! Watcher knows the money would help as well. I just thought with your... history...
Teddy: That's what's worrying you? Nectar doesn't bother me. You know I'll still have a glass on a special occasion. It was all the other stuff I was doing that was the problem...
Josie and Dani spend all afternoon at The Hog Wrangler, trying the delicious food and discussing ideas for their potential new partnership.
By the time Josie returns home, night has fallen. She finds Teddy in the bedroom playing his guitar and singing an unfamiliar song.
Josie stands mesmerised in the doorway watching Teddy sing. No matter how often she sees him play, she still gets butterflies.
Teddy finally looks up and smiles as the song comes to an end.
Josie: I loved that. Is it new?
Teddy: Yeah, I've been working on it this afternoon.
