“What?” Laurent says. He pauses, and then seems like he will laugh, but no sound comes out. “So she has lied, again?” He makes as if to wheel around - as if to ride to Damen, and Auguste has to awkwardly lunge forwards to seize his bridle to prevent it. The bit jangles in Genevrier’s mouth, and Auguste rushes an apology, smoothing the hair on his muzzle. Genevrier tries to bite him. “No,” he says, to Genevrier sternly, and then “no,” to Laurent, placatingly. “Here,” he says to Laurent, “we will ride ahead.” Laurent scowls at him - but he goes.
A new chapter of Sunblind! All hope is not lost.

I want to expand my collection of music this year- please help add to my dragon's hoard and tag your posts with "favorite music friday" so that I see it! >:}
Shamelessly share the song or piece of music that is *your* current favorite! If you discovered it yesterday, been listening to it on repeat for weeks or months or years, find it really meaningful, find it fun or funny, find it super technically well made, you like it just because, any reason at all: please share!
My favorite music this Friday is...
"Sunblind" by Fleet Foxes!
This is a return to an older favorite of mine. (And by older in this case I only mean the last couple of years) Fleet Foxes are a popular indie folk band for a good reason, The 2020 album "Shore", which this song comes from, and their title album from 2008 "Fleet Foxes", are both no-skip albums for me. This song is in every single yearly favorites playlist I have had since 2021, I constantly cycle back to it, almost obsessively. Sunblind somehow manages to be both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. There's something almost physical about the yearning sensation the lyrics and instrumentals invoke! It makes me want to leap for joy and cry at the same time. And speaking of yearning and playlists, this song 100% shows up in multiple of my character playlists! I *especially* envision it as the kind of song a Grey Warden and their comrades would sing around a fire, maybe one or two would have some precious instrument brought along from their home far away. The night is dark and cold, and despite the fire roaring it is only the barest comfort. They and their cohort so often only have the blight in common, but this they can agree on: they long to be away, they long for their fallen brethren to still be with them, they long for it to be over. (I like to internally replace the word "American" in "warm American waters" with "Riviainian".) Furthering this Grey Warden image, I want to highlight some of the lyrics from the second verse. "I'm overmatched. I'm half as wise. If this is flat, brother, I apologize. No one alone, can leave the cave, and all you've loaned won't be kept inside a grave." (Wonderful allusion to Plato's allegory of the cave btw, love it) The entire song is interspersed with calling of names, "For Arthur, for Richard Swift" etc, like a mournful dedication to the lost who could not be there with them, simply wishing for something better. My GOD this song hurts good. 100000/10. I can't imagine it not being a forever fav.
