Gabe Kubanda Is One On OneAvenue.Tv - Exclusive Interview
Gabe Kubanda is a self-made, entrepreneurial, musician who lets his music and his actions speak for himself. He has performed over 300 concerts and has a steady fan following. We were able to catch him during his tour and have him One On OneAvenue.tv for this exclusive interview.
Gabe’s musical style is indie pop or acoustic pop. He likes to keep it catchy and write simplistic hooks. Now he is going solo and leaving his band after 7 years , how does it feels? ” Leaving my band was extremely scary, venturing into the unknown as a solo artist is very daunting, and I was so nervous in my first show, that I kept forgetting all my lyrics!”
His album Flow Fail Prevail, as a solo artist was it challenging to compile the lyrics and music. How long did it take? “As soon as I went solo, I started the Epic Proportions Tour with my business partner Pete. So, I literally was on the road for 3 years before I was able to finally have time to complete the album and record it. Most of these songs were written while I was on the road touring, so that in itself was an interesting way for this album and the songs to come together. I was even trying out these songs live, and in various stages of them being written in front of a live audience, and it was cool to see instantly if a song was vibing with the audience or not.”
“My inspirations are varied, from my parents playing music, to my favorite records of bands like Michael Jackson, Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. But this album I wanted it to sound like the entire picture of me as a person, if that makes sense. The good, the bad, the sad, and the ugly. I’ve even included some candid verbage from my fans and friends, and bands, and some remixes on the album. I really love how it turned out.”
Just thinking how the album would be we wonder if he is going on tour? I’m in the middle of a 3 1/2 month tour right now, and will be launching overseas next year. Lots of really great things are happening for myself and my tour. Check out his tour dates here.
As an artist who is beginning a new journey, what can her share with us as a piece of advice.
“My main advice would be to follow your heart, and take chances. Don’t be afraid to take opportunities, because you never know where they will lead.”
