Happy 1 year (and 1 week) on T to me :3
Anyone who actually cares about trans people is not going to charge them fucking $99 a month for hormones or charge you $150 for a fucking letter writing service while marketing themselves as accessible and progressive. This absolutely fucking angers me as a human services student who specifically plans to work with LGBT+ needs, resources, & accessibility. It is genuinely infuriating.
Also. Where I am, you can go to Planned Parenthood for HRT and get care pretty speedily and they work with you on the costs (I think it may be a pay what you can but don't quote me on that). I've known people who have gotten all their labs done and started hormones within a few days, maybe even the same day. They use informed consent, meaning you dont need letters saying you can get HRT. I wouldnt be surprised if this were the case for Planned Parenthoods in other states. So if you have Planned Parenthood where you are, PLEASE check with them before fucking Plume.
Which, the "Why Plume" graphic on the bottom of their Services & Pricing page (link) is. Frustrating, because it compares Plume to "in person" care in general. It is essentially telling you to choose Plume over in person care because of the bad care that exists, meanwhile good care in person, as I've already described, is out there! Planned Parenthood likely isnt the only one! This is all is just. So predatory.
