Stella Gibson turning everyone gay
Gail: Don’t worry, I don’t want things to be awkward. I’m going to send him a text while he’s sleeping that says “We’re done.”
Stella: Clear. Accurate. But do you feel like it’s enough?
Gail: “We’re done… Goodbye.”
Stella: Yes. That should do it.
[later]
Gail: I told Dani about how I approved of your strategy for breaking up with my boyfriend and she said that we were quote “sociopaths,” unquote
Gail: You remind me of the ocean.
Stella: Why the ocean?
Gail: Because you're salty and you scare people.
Gail: Wow your handshake is really firm.
Dani: Thanks, I took a seminar.
Gail: Where?
My best bud has posted more of her The Fall fanfic: Substitute. It’s Stella/Gail, which I never knew I wanted but now I ship it. Please show her some love!
Gail slipped away to get a little rest in between results coming up from the lab. They’d been working themselves ragged, and everyone had learned to catch rest when they could. She’d barely shut her eyes, curled up on the couch cushion, when she felt the sofa shift.
Whoever it was didn’t think she was completely awake, as there was a touch on her shin, and then a squeeze. Inhaling, Gail smelled perfume so complex she knew it could only belong to one person in the precinct. “Yes, ma’am,” she said, sitting up quickly and blinking, trying to re-adjust herself back to the light.
Stella’s hand was already in her hair before she asked for permission, and Gail felt her stomach drop too pleasantly for comfort. The PSNI detachment was worse than a secondary school when it came to gossip, and everyone was well aware of Stella’s dalliances with not only Olson, but past liaisons with Eastwood and Burns. Stella seemed supremely unconcerned with any gossip -- Gail thought the other woman must have known, she wasn’t stupid -- and the poise she had was much envied.

Stella: Nice work.
Gail: Thanks mom.
Gail: Why is everyone staring at me?
Tom: You just called Stella 'mom.' you said 'thanks, mom.'
Gail: What? No I didn't. I said 'thanks, Stella'
Stella: Do you seen me as a mother figure, Gail?
Gail: No! If anything I see you as a bother figure, since you're always bothering me.
Dani: Hey! Show your mother some respect!
Gail: I didn't call her mom!
Glenn: You know that manslaughter is the least serious murder charge?
Gail: You don't say.
Glenn: Manslaughter. Literally, the slaughter of a man. Sounds brutal, doesn't it?
Gail: Heinous.
Glenn: Yet it's the most socially acceptable form of murder.
Gail: So you think we should change the name.
Glenn: Yes, I do. How about "inadvertent life-ending"?
Gail: "Unintentional snuff-out".
Glenn: How about "I can't believe it's not murder"?
Stella: I'm not that good looking...
Dani: Yeah, you are.
Gail: You kind of are.
