Lin bumped the satomobile door shut, a hefty bag slung over her shoulder and her arms brimming with paperwork. After a long day, jam packed with dull council meetings, she was ready to relax. The lights of her home were already on and she knew Kya was inside, through the exhaustion she smiled softly, it was a welcome surprise. Pushing through the front door, Lin was bathed in golden light and greated by the delicious smell of curry. She dumped everything, armor and all, at the door and made her way to the kitchen to find the heavenly sight of her girlfriend dressed entirely in her clothes.
Kyas hair, holding a residual wetness, lay freely over her shoulders, a black RCPD zip-up slipping from her frame, and her ridiculously long legs were on display in Lins too small RCPD shorts; she must of come straight over after her shift at the hospital. Kya greated her with a soft 'hi baby' as Lin wrapped her arms around her from behind, burying her face into the crook of Kyas neck, placing several kisses there. "All the clothes you own, and you still insist on wearing mine." Lin spoke softly into Kyas ear, causing her to stop tending to the curry and roll her eyes, a smile bubbling. Lins hands ran up underneath the hoodie, finding bare skin as she spoke lowly, "I'm afraid I'm going to need you to remove them."

nine sentences seems to be the sweet spot ... some of these kinda run, but whatever.
i have a few in the queue to write, but im still open to receiving more prompts c:
(Bickering, implied relationship, was supposed to be a drabble but I got carried away)
Kenjaku sat with his companion as he worked on his preparations for the culling game. He couldn’t help notice the long drawn out sigh that left your lips. He thought about ignoring it but he knew that it would only cause him further trouble down the line if he left you to stew in whatever thoughts you were having, even if they were.. in his mind, foolish.
He glanced over at you, “Pray tell, what is it this time?”
You let out another dramatic, exasperated sigh, “how come you only use the hideous cursed spirits?”
Kenjaku almost choked on the tea he was drinking, “W-what?”
He usually expected you to complain about something ridiculous, often wondering why he kept you around in the first place. Other than the fact that he found you aesthetically pleasing, you served absolutely no purpose to his plans. Although he occasionally found you amusing.
You drawled on, “Geto had some beautiful curses stored up yet you’re for some reason always whipping out those gross centipedes.. and other creepy things. Must you be so macabre?”
Kenjaku laughed softly in your face while you pouted childishly, “I don’t really think macabre is the word you’re looking for, my dear” he said condescendingly, his face maintaining that ever present smile, “But I can see why my choices may unsettle you.”
With your cheeks puffed out you whined a bit, “You could use rainbow dragon but you choose the centipedes! I literally don’t understand.”
This earns an eye roll from Kenjaku, something that you would normally relish in if you were not genuinely annoyed with his inability to utilize cursed spirits that didn’t give you the creeps.
“Y/N this is not a game of Pokémon,” He chastised you, “I am not going to pick and choose which cursed spirits I summon because you think they are cute. Cease your complaining.”
You didn’t stop, not in the least. “Okay but why don’t you even use the worm? It’s like GTA pockets. You have to admit it’s convenient and you aren’t even utilizing it..”
Kenjaku side-eyed you, considering if he should answer you honestly or just give you a non-answer. He sighed and mumbled. “It’s old man face… makes me uneasy.”
“It seems friendly for a cursed spirit,” you said shrugging your shoulders.
“It’s a damn cursed spirit! None of them are friendly. You probably would think Mahito was your best friend if he smiled at you. You really need to be more cautious about them,” He scolded you for the millionth time. Kenjaku wondered if it was even worth bringing you into the fold of his plans or if you would inevitably just end up ruining everything with your inability to think critically.
You flinched back slightly and looked up at him with a bit of a doe-eyed expression, “b-but I thought Mahito was my friend..”
He ran his hands through his long hair and let out an exasperated sigh. Kenjaku truly looked like he was running out of patience, “How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from that curse unless it is absolutely necessary for you to talk to him? And it is rarely, if ever, necessary for you to converse with him!”
Despite Kenjaku’s obvious annoyance and frustration you decided to defend your decision to associate with the curse, “Well Mahito is funny and he once showed me the shrunken human he keeps in his pocket.. it was… a little weird though.”
“And you didn’t stop to think that you’re very lucky you didn’t end up as the shrunken pocket human? Never occurred to you, hm? Ensuring that you do not die is becoming a full time job.” Kenjaku snapped at you, his hands holding your cheeks in his palms, “And quite frankly I do not have the extra time to expend on it.”
Your eyes shifted up to meet his scrutinizing gaze, letting yourself linger on his features a bit before speaking. Taking in the way his brow was furrowed in frustration despite his normally calm demeanor. You knew it was time to concede.
“I’m sorry, Kenjaku. I didn’t realize it was that big of a deal,” You said softly, in an attempt to play off all of his valid concerns.
He leaned forward, resting his forehead against your own. His eyes closed and he inhaled deeply in an attempt to center himself again. His hands were still on the sides of your cheeks keeping you still. Kenjaku allowed himself to have this pleasure for a few moments before he pulled away.
“You are very fortunate you are cute. Otherwise I would not tolerate any of this.”
You smiled enjoying the compliment, “okay but can you maybe try to use rainbow dragon?”

A full body shiver rustled you out of your sleep, you tossed yourself over in your bed, and tried to burrow deeper into the blankets before you realized your room was ice cold. You squinted through the pitch blackness of the room trying to see the alarm clock on your dresser that usually had a faint glow, to see the time, but when its light was absent you realized the power was out… and so was your heat. You let out a long groan and pulled the blankets over your head. A nasty cold front was coming through Seasoning City, and this was absolutely no time to be enduring a night without heat. You quickly grabbed your phone off your nightstand looking for an email from your apartment management or your electric company regarding the power.
ETA for power restoration…. 12pm. It was midnight. You were not going to last twelve hours shivering in this apartment and you were certainly not going to get a wink of sleep. You settled on calling your closest friend in walking distance to see if you could spend the night. You didn’t want to spend any more time out in the cold than strictly necessary. Serizawa and you had gotten closer recently and you had a feeling that he would be happy to host, or at least he wouldn’t turn down someone in need. You were freezing your butt off and were already dialing his number.
“H-Hello?” A gruff voice answered quickly on the other line.
“Hey. Serizawa, do you have power?” You quickly asked jumping right into the point, “Oh. Wait, did I wake you up?”
“Hm? Are you okay? I have power.” He replied quickly, concern apparent in his voice.
“My place lost power and I won’t have heat until tomorrow afternoon. And with this weather we are having..” You rambled on, already packing a bag of toiletries and a spare change of clothes, your teeth were chattering from leaving the small warmth of your bed, “I was wondering if maybe I could come stay with you for the night? It’s so cold here I can’t sleep.”
“Of course!” Serizawa said softly. You hear faint rustling noises on the other end of the line, that sounded like he was getting out of bed. So you had woken him up.
“Ok! Great, I’m just grabbing some things and I’ll head right over.” You confirmed breathing a sigh of relief. Serizawa was always such a dependable person. Not to mention that you definitely had a huge crush on him, but that was neither here nor there. You were just about to sleep over his house because your power was out during a cold front, you were not going to make this weird. At all.
As soon as the phone call ended Serizawa started to blink away what was left of his sleep. Taking in the full consequences of his actions. He looked around his small apartment and realized… ‘I only have one bed’. He had definitely read too much manga for this.
—
By the time you knocked on his door, your cheeks were slightly wind burnt from the cold and your nose felt like it was downright frozen. As soon as Serizawa saw you he was ushering you inside. He had you wrapped in a blanket and sitting in his living area while he was making you tea as soon as your shoes and coat were off to warm you up. You watched him, taking a second to appreciate how cute he looked in his gray sweatpants and loose T-shirt. It was rare that you got to see Serizawa in casual clothes, the two of you usually caught up after he had gotten off work or out of night class, so this was an odd treat for you. He almost looked out of place to you, dressed so relaxed but it was nice to see another side of him. You tried not to let your eyes linger too much on him but the sweatpants left too little to the imagination.
“So,” you cleared your throat to get his attention, needing conversation to distract yourself from your mind wandering where, frankly it shouldn’t be, “Thank you so much for letting me crash here. I appreciate it so much.”
He glanced back at you, giving you an uneasy smile, “Y-yeah of course.” He said, running his hand against the back of his neck, “You shouldn’t have to stay in the cold all night.”
“Serizawa,” Your eyes bore into him as you could tell something was wrong. You two were close enough by now that you had come to pick up on his nervous habits, “What’s wrong?”
He brought both cups of tea over and set them on the table. He sat across from you but did not make eye contact, instead he was fixed on looking at a random point on the floor.
“I— I only have one futon!” He exclaimed quickly, his eyes were darting around the room, looking anywhere and everywhere except at you. “I’m sorry. I didn’t even think about it until we had already gotten off the phone.”
After he had confessed alleged crimes, he finally looked back at you, his face completely red. You could tell that Serizawa was extremely nervous about your reaction. His flustered reaction was adorable to you though and you couldn’t hold back a small giggle.
“Oh, Serizawa!” You said between a laugh, glancing over at his futon. You both could fit on there comfortably…. probably. “I don’t care, I don’t mind sharing, as long as you’re okay with it.”
“Y-you’re sure you’re comfortable with it?” He looked at you anxiously, his fingers twisting together, a look of slight guilt present on his face, “I don’t want to overstep. I can always just sleep on the ground!”
Your eyes narrowed at his suggestion of him sleeping on the hard ground of his apartment. You couldn’t say you were entirely prepared to arrive at Serizawa’s house and spend the night snuggled up in the same bed with him. The idea of spending the night in his house and having the man that you had feelings for possibly see you in an unflattering light was already unnerving enough, but to be in the same bed was definitely throwing you for a loop. At the same time, the prospect of being able to be closer to him was enticing all the same and you could feel your heart almost hammering out of your chest with nerves at the thought of being pressed against him trying to accommodate yourselves into that futon. If anything, it would be nice and toasty and you were still feeling chilled.
“You are not sleeping on the floor, Serizawa. That is final. Are you sure you’re comfortable with it? If anything I’d be the one overstepping because I am at your house,” You assured him in a calm and confident tone, faking it until you made it, “I am comfortable with it but only if you are as well.”
Serizawa visibly relaxed at your words, you could see some of the tension release from his shoulders as he leaned back slightly in resignation. His fingers relaxed in his lap and he took a deep exhale before he replied softly, “It’s fine. We are friends. It will be like a sleepover. Well, not that I had any of those.”
“Right! Exactly like a sleepover,” You quickly assured, stretching your arms over your head, yawning for exaggeration, “Well, I am not sure about you but I am beat. I know I woke you up. Let’s get this show on the road and get to bed. What do you say, Seri?”
“Hm?”, a small noise came from his throat as he was clearing the table of your teas as you were talking. Serizawa looked flustered and caught off guard at your sudden introduction of a nickname. Your intention was to make him feel more comfortable and closer, in a friendly way, naturally.
A moment passed and he finally replied quickly and loudly, scrubbing the small cups clean, “Y-Yes, I am quite tired.” You could see the tips of his ears were bright red.
Well, that could have gone over better, you thought to yourself. Serizawa opted to let it go so you would as well. Once he finished cleaning up, the two of you made your way over to his futon, both leering down at it with trepidation. You sure weren’t going to be the one to make the first move to get in. It wasn’t your bed. You looked over at Serizawa, and gave him an encouraging smile.
“Well, after you!” You cooed, holding your arm gesturing at the futon below the two of you. Trying to look as nonchalant about everything as you could. Below the surface you could feel your heart hammering in your chest and a bubble of nerves making their way through your body. You knew there was no way that Serizawa was any way better off than you. Even on a good day, he would get flustered by little things when you were around. You would normally chalk that up to the time he spent away from society but you considered this a universally nerve-wracking experience.
“R-Right!” He stammered as he gingerly knelt down and got under the blankets. He positioned himself on his back, stiff as a board. He had the blankets pulled up to his neck so that only his head was visible. His facial expression was uneasy, his mouth pressed into a firm line and his eyebrows knit tight together. You wondered briefly if Serizawa was even going to be able to fall back asleep at all, or if the two of you were doomed to just lay in excruciating silence for the remainder of the night.
You hesitated for a moment more before you shakily slid in next to him. You opted to lay on your side with your back turned to him, to save yourself the embarrassment of him seeing your flustered expression. You took a deep inhale through your nose and let out a long exhale, that was really more like a silent scream, towards the pillow trying to release the tension you were feeling. Thankful that the position you gave yourself at least allotted you some semblance of privacy for that at least. Under the blanket, you became hyper aware of the body heat radiating off of Serizawa, the man was like a six foot tall space heater. It helped you relax and want to scoot closer to the warmth, the blanket wasn’t necessarily the best size for two people but you had a feeling that he had given you more than half of it. You craned your neck back to look at him and your suspicion was confirmed when you saw that the blanket hardly reached his far shoulder.
He must have felt you shuffling around because with his eyes still closed, he questioned, “Are you comfortable?”
You scooted closer to him, closing the gap between your bodies, at this point not caring about your dignity, and pushed more of the blanket towards him, “Here. You’re not even covered by the blanket, Serizawa. I appreciate you wanting me to be comfortable but not at your own expense.”
“Goodnight, Serizawa” You whispered, turning back around, sinking back into the pillow.
“Goodnight,” He whispered back, accepting the blanket and you could feel him try to relax behind you. You closed your eyes and attempted to sleep, staying awake for who-knows-how-long, until you were aware of Serizawa’s deep, slow breathing a sure sign that he had finally drifted off to sleep. A shaky exhale of relief left your lips, you were thankful that at least one of you was able to relax enough to fall asleep. You tried to clear your mind of any swirling thoughts you were having about the bizarre situation and tried to just focus on relaxing your body, enjoying finally being enveloped in warmth compared to your frozen apartment. After a while your eyelids started to feel heavy and you were able to drift off to sleep as well.
—--
When you opened your eyes the next morning, you were surprised how well rested you felt. Your first thought was that you were so cozy, wrapped up in this weighted blanket, you didn’t even remember buying one of these– wait, that is NOT a weighted blanket and this is not your house. Your eyes fully opened and you took a sharp inhale in, assessing your sleeping position. Serizawa had, at some point during the night, turned on his side to spoon you and now was halfway on top of you, his leg flung over yours, effectively pinning you to the futon. Two firm arms held you flush against his chest, one under your neck that had replaced your pillow and the other snaked around your waist. You felt heat rise to your cheeks at the realization of the compromising position that you had just apparently spent the night sleeping in with your crush. You had to admit that part of you was relishing the feeling of being cuddled up against him. It felt safe, secure, and warm. It definitely lost out to the part of you that was anxious about the aftermath of him waking up because you knew deep down that this was not a conscious Serizawa move. You had a crush on him for months and you had some suspicions that it was mutual, but he hadn’t even gone as far to hold your hand, let alone throw his entire body on you.
You were berating yourself for throwing all caution to the wind and tossing yourself into this position, well maybe not this exact position. You were not equipped to deal with this level of nerves early in the morning. As if sensing your pounding heart rate, Serizawa started to stir behind you. His hand that was on your waist started to slide toward your chest as he slowly started to stretch out, you quickly made a b-line to grasp his wrist. You may have grasped him a little too firmly out of self-preservation of what was left of your dignity because Serizawa’s body suddenly jolted and he took a sharp inhale. He pulled his wrist back from your hand quickly in surprise.
“I-I.. Oh.. Umm..” He stammered, pulling his body off of you, quickly retreating to the other end of the futon. He pulled his knees to his chest, a deep blush present across his cheeks, “I am so sorry. I.. I normally sleep with a body pillow and.. I am so sorry.”
You exhaled a puff of air before starting to laugh in earnest. Serizawa looked back at you with clear confusion, expecting you to be offended by his behavior.
“Honestly,” you said between laughs, looking up at him from your place on the futon smiling, “It was pretty comfortable,” you felt a pit in your stomach forming with anxiety before you got the courage to spit the next words out, “I.. I wouldn’t mind cuddling some more.”
He looked at you with a wobbly grin on his face and slowly let go of his knees, making his way back under the covers with you, “I.. Yes, I would like that too.”
This time you laid facing each other, your face pressed into his chest, his arms wrapped around you with one of your arms slung around his waist. You were thankful to have the contact back and be buried back against the warmth of his body. Sharing this calm, tender moment with each other in the morning felt a lot more intimate for two people that were just friends and gave you the confidence to finally say what you had been wanting to tell Serizawa for a long time.
“Hey Serizawa,” You said, peeking your face up from his chest, “I.. really like you.”
His arms wrapped tighter around your waist and he pressed a quick kiss to the top of your head, “I like you too.”
if you write pawshipping w/ that trope you WILL kill me...
"Ah! Sweet heavens Drew, be careful."
Felix growled quietly, his eyebrows furrowing at his friend, who gently cradled his arm in inspection.
Said arm in question had been fairly diced, long claw marks lining down it, red and bruised.
No blood, thankfully, but it was sore and raw to the touch.
"I am," the boy purred in response, letting go and going to fetch the first aid kit.
Felix was reckless, wound full of energy and often would get himself into situations easily avoidable.
Drew was stupid, but knew when to leave a confrontation.
Felix did not.
The lanky teen returned, holding the kit in one hand and pulling back his dirty-blond hair into a ponytail with the other.
He scooted up close to the table where Felix was sitting on and was more cautious holding his arm this time than before.
Felix watched as he soaked a washcloth in warm water and then spritzed it with antiseptic before dabbing softly around the wounds.
He was surprisingly nimble with his hands, before pressing too hard on accident and Felix winced loudly and jerked his arm.
"Hold still," Drew muttered, exasperated but concerned nonetheless.
Felix couldn't help but stare at him.
Drews ponytail was extremely messy and rushed, with strands and locks curling down over his forehead. His sunglasses had slipped down slightly on his nose, showing his emerald green eyes, tongue stuck out as he worked deep in thought.
Oh he was beautiful.
Suddenly the boy opposite pushed up his glasses and spared a glance upward, his cheeks pinkening as he realized Felix had been staring.
He couldn't tear away his eyes for some reason, Felix just kept the eye contact.
Red and orange reflecting off the dark shades, the rich brown-milky peach mix on his face slowly growing redder.
And then he diverted his gaze downward to the floor as Drew cleared his throat and began bandaging his injured limb.
"Lin ... do you ever ... regret it?" Kya's words pulled Lin out of the rambling of her own thoughts and back into the present moment. They had been casually talking, sitting beside each other in the moon light, catching up after the long awaited return of the avatar to republic city. Lin froze, a heat growing in her cheeks, she knew instantly what Kya had been referring to; the night Kya had left with Korra for the south pole, the night they had shared a kiss for the first time. Lin couldnt recall who had kissed who, her memory was clouded with the overwhelming sensation of Kyas soft lips and hot breath. They had probably exchanged over a hundred letters in the time they had been apart, but Lin had never been brave enough to the approach the subject, or maybe she couldnt ever find the right words.
Kya's hands were restless as Lin looked at her; her impossibly blue eyes searched her face for answers, it made Lins chest feel tight. She reached across and tenderly tucked Kya's loose hair behind her ear, lingering there, "Ky..." Lin nearly whispered, "how could you even ask me that." Kya let out a short releaved breath that was almost a laugh. A lopsided smile tugged at Lins own lips as she pulled Kya in and closed the space between them, kissing her fully.

little more than five sentences , and if thats a crime ... then lock me up.
It had been over a decade since Lin had been to Ember Island, and several years since she had taken anything resembling a vacation. Time off is a luxury Lin doesn’t regularly afford herself, but when Katara showed up at her doorstep to deliver the invitation to the gang's old vacation spot, she couldn't turn it down. “Aang’s condition is only going to get worse as time goes on. I thought it would be nice for the whole family to spend some time together, like we used to. Before he really takes a turn.” A soft smile graced Katara’s face, as she pushed the invitation into Lin’s hands.
Lin’s immediate family dynamic looks a lot different than the last time everyone had been to Ember Island. She knew there was no way this vacation would be anything like ‘how it used to’, and thinking about doing anything that resembled spending quality time with her mother had a knot of anxiety twisting in her stomach. But Katara, and in particular, Aang, meant so much to Lin. They may not be blood relatives, but they feel like home more than anything else. So she took Katara up on the invitation to indulge in a bit of nostalgia.
The first morning on the island Lin woke early with the sun, her body used to her usual routine of early morning shifts. It took her a moment to remember where she was. Lin rolled over in bed, and could practically see a dormant, drooling, ten year old Su, with the most atrocious bedhead, tangled in the sheets of the twin bed across from her. Startled by the wave of childhood feelings, Lin sat up in bed and squeezed her eyes shut. She pushed her fingers through her hair, to tame her own atrocious bedhead, while also attempting to sooth the flood of emotions. When she opened her eyes again, she peered at the neat and empty twin bed beside hers. It then occurred to her how small the room felt, and she decided it was time to get up. She threw some items into her gym bag and headed out for the beach, hopeful that her usual morning workout routine would help her feel more regulated.
Lin scanned the shoreline as she descended the long flight of stairs along the cliffside, grateful to find the beach was vacant. Once at the bottom she wandered over to a large rock near the treeline that worked nicely as a makeshift bench. She took a quick moment to bend the sandy earth beneath her feet to create a small area of flat, solid land. She centered herself as she stretched her stiff joints, and moved on to stair climbing for a bit of cardio to complete her warm up.
As she jogged lightly back down the stairs, some movement in the distance caught her eye. It was someone pushing lightly through the ocean water. She didn’t think much of it, concluding that it was probably Katara, up early getting in a quick workout like herself. Breathing heavy, Lin walked back to her stuff for a quick water break. It wasn’t lost on her that the figure was coming into shore, but she remained focused on herself, not quite ready to participate in any social interactions. Lin took a swig of her water, squirted some of it along the back of her neck to cool off, and then traded the bottle for the roll of wraps in her bag, ready to move onto the training portion of her routine.
She began the meditative process of wrapping her hands when she saw the figure, standing up out of the water, from the corner of her eye. Lin turned to face them, ready to offer a congenial greeting before withdrawing. But that plan went out the window when it was Kya she locked eyes with. Kya quickly withdrew her gaze sheepishly, embarrassed to have been caught staring. Frozen in place, Lin wondered how long she had been observing her, and the puzzled look on her face was slowly replaced with a lopsided smile. In an entirely too casual manner, Kya gathered her long, luscious, brown hair to the side and rang the water out of it. As she did, she shot Lin a coy look accompanied by a fresh pink flush radiating across her face. Lin could see Katara in the way Kya smiled softly, but it was the mischievous look in Kya’s eyes that caused Lin’s heart rate to pick back up again.
Lin was struck by how stunning she looked, standing there in the water. Lin had always found Kya to be beautiful, in the same way she found Katara to be beautiful. They were both gracious with others, caring in a maternal way, and strong willed while being flexible and accommodating; all traits Lin looked up to — envied. But Kya had never looked quite as beautiful as she did right now surrounded by her element, her golden skin and toned body made Lin’s head feel like it was filled with static. She should have looked away, been more nonchalant, but Lin just watched as Kya departed from the lightly lapping ocean waves.
“Hey badgermole.” Kya teased, finally breaking the tension between them. The old childhood nickname had Lin feeling like a bucket of ice water had been dumped over her head. Kya must have been able to read the feeling on Lin’s face, and promptly apologized with a giggle. Her breathy laugh had Lin feeling fuzzy all over again. As Kya made her way towards the staircase, heading back to the house, Lin awkwardly tried to focus on wrapping her hands, blissfully unaware that she had failed to return the greeting. Kya began to ascend the stairs when she paused, “wanna hang out after breakfast?” she said with a hum turning her head to look at Lin, subconsciously, or perhaps consciously, checking her out. Lin suppressed the shiver that ran up her spine, and when their eyes met she returned a slightly too enthusiastic affirmative head nod, still unable to say anything. Kya turned back, hiding the wide grin tugging at her lips. “Cool.” she said, attempting to keep a casual tone, and she continued to climb the stairs, fully aware that Lin’s eyes were still fixated on her.
When Kya had left the vicinity, the static in her head began to dissipate and Lin could think again, still her mind kept returning to Kya and what the hell had just happened. She shook her head, in an attempt to get back to the task at hand. As she moved to toss her wrap roll back in her bag, Lin was astonished to find the solid, flat slab of earth beneath her feet had gone soft.

im no writer but , i love to think up little scenes for my art , hope you enjoyed. feel free to dream up the rest of the story c;
I saw someone post a list of things they were changing about the LoK universe in their fic, and one of them was that all the cloud babies would get their own sky bison. And i really liked the sound of that for many reasons, so in this story Kya has her own sky bison named Yue.
Hope you like it !
--
The moon was shining bright overhead when Kya climbed up the back of Yue and dropped the last bag of supplies into the saddle. She had been traveling for two days straight, and if she and Yue flew through the night, they would make it to their destination, Republic City, by the morning. Kya took her position at the helm and the pair took off into the deepening sky. As they flew through the quiet night, exhaustion set in and Kyas posture softened. She dropped the reins and called out to her loyal sky bison, "you know where we're going, right Yue?" The sky bison called back in agreement. Kya relaxed, laying back with her hands behind her head and her knees proped up. Beneath the full moon she wouldn't be able to sleep, but she closed her eyes anyway, breathing in the cool air deeply. Her mind was active, filled with anticipation of returning home. High above the clouds, in the vast ocean of the dark sky, Kya yearned for her rock, her earthly teather. For the past several weeks she had been traveling with a unit of experienced healers, helping small communities plagued by imbalance. The work was incredibly rewarding and it allowed her to feel connected to her linage. But, with the way her joints were aching, as well as her heart, she pondered how much she would be willing to commit to in the future.
Yue groaned and Kya sat back up, greated by the fiant glow of the Republic city at dawn, in the distance. The water reflected the light of the pale blue morning sky as Kya flew right over air temple island and deeper into the city. Sun rays just began to stretch across the land of the Beifong estate as Yue touched down, Lin appearing in the doorway. She had Kyas, too long, fluffy blue robe wrapped tightly around her, and her hair was still plauged with bed head. The sight sparked a bolt of energy through Kya and she jumped down from Yue to run over to her, a sleepy grin spreading across both of their faces. When she met Lins open arms she practically collapsed into her. Folded into the strong frame of her girlfriend, Kya felt the relief of returning home wash over her. With a sigh, she tightened her hold but let Lin shoulder the weight of her, somehow, still up right body. Lin placed a gentle kiss on her temple and playfully asked, "Did you miss me?" Kya managed a fervent nod before Lin shifted, scooping up the taller woman into her arms, to carry her inside.

ive given up on the five sentence aspect of this haha
