Gainesville Bound and Flight Tips
In the airport waiting to visit my gainesville peeps and celebrate the marriage of two wonderful people who stayed in the same dorm with me freshman year.
It’s quite a busy day, but I guess that’s to be expected as people are finishing school and taking vacations with the warmer weather.
Some traveling tips to make the security check easier:
- You know that 3oz liquid rule that tells you to put all that stuff in a clear quartsized bag. Do it. And make sure you can pull it straight out of your baggage without unpacking. Makes your life easier.
- Wear flats or shoes you can slip on and off easily for the security check. This will save you time and some anxiety when everything comes flying off the conveyor belt and you’ve gotta scramble to get all your stuff.
- Avoid wearing a belt. See note above on shoes.
- Don’t put things in your pant pockets as they will need to be removed for security check. Keep little things you may need in your jacket pockets so that you can just chuck the whole jacket into a plastic compartment and roll it through the scanner.
- I found it helpful to keep my flats, jacket, and liquids baggie in one plastic bin. Less fuss and less things to worry about.
Things have gone rather smoothly thus far on my journey, so I hope they will continue and that this weekend will be both super awesome and that I won't be hungover for my return flight.
Also, watching Fear the Walking Dead’s plane episode pre-flight was not a good idea.
