Galaxy Cocktail OP
Angelic Pretty’s upcoming release. The print idea is really nice, but this OP is not working as well as it could in my opinion. The harness idea with an OP is pretty interesting, I felt they wanted to go for a sightly more daring and mature feel rather than the usual sweet and cute. I feel like the material choices could be better and sturdier and not shiny.
How would I fix it? This was not an easy fix to do as I was kind of lost with the initial impression of the dress. But I wanted to give it a try so I did my best. I felt the holographic shiny fabric isn’t really not my cup of tea though I understand that it does fit to the futuristic space theme. I do appreciate taking some risks to try something new. I think the zipper in the front is a bit weird, it makes it look like this is the back of the dress. I removed the zipper, it also doesn’t work that well paired with the harness. As I often do I swapped the narrow neck bow to a proper big one with a cute star motif on top. This is where we can clearly see the star patch, instead of two patches that are lost in the print in the original version. I made the sleeves slightly longer and added some poof to them. To fit with the astral theme and try something more risky and unique I added a star shaped bib. With new AP releases the designs are more simplified which can work well but I do also miss all the lovely details like trims and laces so I threw some in to make it a bit more polished.
