The most well known Aves with the turkey title are the Gallopavo. These Aves are known for there strong subspecies pride and show off nature. Males have large tales that they will use to attract mates. Every year those who are looking for a partner will go to the many Gallopavo dances where the males will face off against other males to show their strength and skills on the dance floor.

I have yet to go to one of these dances myself, but one day i'd love to watch one.

The Gallopavo are a very proud species with many different colorations and skills. Males particularly tend to have a flare for the dramatic and will use their large fan like tails both the startle foes or show off to allies

The full subspecies info and legend for the Gallopavo subspecies can be found in the Almanac here. This legend I find particularly interesting and complex.

The Gallopavo have many different morphs within their subspecies. There are 9 morphs that the Heritage Institute recognizes although there are many more smaller groups beyond those 9. Each group has its own variation on how the Gallopavo legend is told and so if you get a moment to talk to a Gallopavo you should ask them what their legend focuses on.
