Galway Races Blog

We were very happy and excited to be returning to The Quays, Galway for a new run of gigs - and what better time to do it than the Thursday night of Galway Race Week 2017? In fairness, the place was pretty full to capacity - or as the staff put it to us, ‘SARDINES’! 

Esteemed Sound Engineer, Matt Cragg was on the faders for the first time with us in three years and he did a stellar job! The sound was awesome!!!! Great to be back with Seamus, Dermot and all the staff of the Quays once again.

Following a dart home (as in a brisk drive across the country - not the green Dublin based train network!) at 3am, we hit Autopilot in the van the next afternoon to get back over west for an early soundcheck on the main stage in the Electric Arena, Galway Clayton. Despite the heavy rain, there was a fantastic atmosphere. All credit to the organisers of the event as the stage positioning meant everybody was pretty much sheltered from the Irish Summer!

Finally, can we give a big shout out to the ‘Galway Topflight Ski Club’ or as we called them, “Alesha’s Ski Troupe’ - who came down to see us and reminisce about the Today FM Ski Trip, Kirchberg 2017!
