Stronger – the 2nd album from Indonesian group Gamaliel Audrey Cantika
Gamaliel Audrey Cantika or just GAC is an Indonesian RnB group that consist of three members. Trio got famous through the Youtube, where they were covering other artists songs and Sony Music Entertainment decided to give the talented singers opportunity to record their own album. They have released so far two studio albums and the latest was released in May. The songs on this album got ready in only three weeks. Did they manage to bring amazing sounds to listeners in that little time? Let’s find it out.
Album Stronger includes ten tracks that are being sang in Indonesian and English. The journey through the album begins with the hit Bahagia (Happy) which is a positive midtempo pop song about being grateful for everything, overcoming your problems and making your dreams come true. Goooo is the song that makes everyone dance because of its rhythmical melody and harmonical voices. The vocal part gets more interesting during the refrain when Gamaliel is singing the main part while female vocals diversify the melody behind it. The outcome is very powerful. Next track Cinta (Love) is a bilingual more relaxed song that sounds as something from 90s band. It has very enjoyable smooth tune and to make it stand out, there has been added the rap part which suits there actually very well. The album-titled track Stronger is one of the most memorable and outstanding song from the album. It has very modern tune and great production. Whole song has been filled with action, whether it is the female vocals which makes the feeling of the choir or interesting technical elements. Album ends with beautiful ballad Untuk Indonesia (For Indonesia). During this track, there can be heard mostly live instruments with dominating piano and that is what makes this song special...its simplicity. Untuk Indonesia is being sang by Cantika and she delivers the song in a way that it reaches easily to every heart, even when you don’t understand Indonesian. Excellent ending to the second studio album.
Stronger is an album that could conquer the world’s music charts undoubtedly. It has a lot of modern RnB tracks which can be compared to popular music. To keep some roots in the album, they have decided to sing most of the songs in Indonesian, but this is not keeping them to gather fans all over the world. I am sure that this trio will have very successful career if they would be given a chance to spread their music. If you like fresh pop and rnb tracks, then this is the album for you!
