I gotta interrupt my usual worldbuilding clown posting with some gaming clown posting for a moment because I just played this whimsically splendid game called Poco where you play as a lil clown who got kicked out of this surreal circus and now has to explore the below world habitated by weird lil homunculi all while you solve puzzles in the good ol' point and click adventure style.
Now, other than the fact that this game already has some elements that I personally love (clowns, weird surreal stuff, whimsical point and click puzzles), the ART in this game is GORGEOUS! I had to take some screenshots:
play devil of the mirror PLEASEEEEEEE its such a good game u can find it on itch io!!!!!!!! if you like games like ib or art like the witchs house or maybe even pocket mirror u will love devil of the mirror trust me there is like five people in this fandom do it NOW
(Full game complete!) Our special place. A place just for us.
Just play the game. Just do it(if you can deal with the content warnings ofc). Trust me, it is a deeply personal experience that tackles a whole RANGE of themes where there is atleast one that you are bound to relate to in some aspect, probably more! I really cannot do it justice by my word alone, no matter how hard I tried. All I can say is that I would wholeheartedly reccomend it to anyone in their late teens/early adulthood, as it is really a transformative experience; it's like a coming of age story, but executed perfectly for that age demographic instead. It is so extremely cinematic in both the sheer amount of deeply emotive cutscenes and the ost that backs the game so immensely(seriously, cheers to the people behind orchestrating original music and cheers to Carrot for picking pre-existing pieces that match the game's moments so well!). Truly, one of the most memorable experience I have had with a game. What else can I say...oh! It's extremely aspec friendly! Not to spoil anything but if you're aspec I think this game would resonate with you even deeper than with me. Lot's of other representation, too, and not just the LGBTQ+ type.
o right i think you expressed interest in ggdg's soulsov at some point! it's 30% off today only if you were still thinking of taking a look-see

uhuhddufhd i love Antumbra. I just played it myself for the first time, after watching Markiplier play it a long time ago. I remembered a good bit of the game, but I still struggled with the puzzles despite that.
If you're looking for a good, meaty horror-adventure game, I definitely recommend it. If you've never played it before, definitely heed the warnings before the game starts. It IS difficult. It IS disturbing. but I LOVE IT.
Even though Markiplier played it back in 2015, I don't think the game or the author of the game got that much attention, and that makes me sad :-(. So I'm just making a quick post about it here, hoping some people may find it and enjoy it :).
Welp, since Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be a whole-ass 7/10, I though I’d take this opportunity to talk about a game which, I think, goes severely underappreciated to balance out the disappointment of an overhyped game that turned out to be only good in the end.

The first game is The Outer Worlds, made by Obsidian Entertainment.
You know, the guys who made Fallout New Vegas which is widely considered to be the best of the Fallout games.
The Outer Worlds is a Solar System trotting adventure through the colony of Halcyon, a system controlled by tyrannical mega-corporations and filled with danger. The game is a fun and entertaining FPS-RPG that is has enough customization options to keep things interesting but not too many so as to hurt your head.
The game is rife with humor and the irreverent attitude that made FNV great. And the writing is really where this game shines. The characters are fun and interesting, and your recruitable companions are fun to have around. All six companions are fun and interesting.
The areas where this game falls short, in my opinion, is the setting. This is an alien solar system and it does very little with that setting. There are alien animals you fight, but no real alien things that come into play. And that’s okay, because that’s not the point of the game. It’s not about alien threats and Lovecraftian horrors. It’s about struggling against rampant corporatism and tyranny.
I highly recommend the Outer Worlds. It’s fun. It’s not obscenely huge or long and is refreshingly bug-free. There’s a couple quirks here and there, but it runs incredibly smoothly. And it’s got a lot of neat features such as no gender-restricted customization options.
And, while there’s no romanceable companions, one of your companions does have a major romance arc with another NPC. Not only is it wlw, but your companion is also asexual, and her dialogue gives you the option to identify as such as well, or even as aroamntic as well.
In short, the Outer Worlds is a great game that gets way too little attention and is an extremely fun play. Enjoy!
does anyone know any games that use non-lethal conflicts as an opportunity to bring back and develop defeated antagonists and/or permit canonical player failures? other than like, straightforward sports games. it's something i really love about pyre and i'd like to see more of it
