cold-ass take here but i think we could use a few: ‘good’ taps fill me with nothing but the purest of rage. like no, actually, if it broke my combo — thus robbing me of potential rewards gained by having said combo — then that’s not good, actually! that is, in fact, very bad! and then i’ll continue to lose my entire combo and have to redo the whole song from the start because of even one of those damned taps being recorded!!!!! it pisses me off to no end, i hate you good taps, they’ll never make me like you >:( >:( >:(

I refuse to call Watashi wa, Watashitachi wa; Hakoniwa no Coral; and Gekokujou by their official (in-game) translated names. I specify the in-game version because the KAFU version of Gekokujou has been officially translated as Giant Killing and I like that much more than Retainer Supplanting His Lord.

I don't think this is going to be a "hot take" per se but... Long time Vocaloid fan here (first song was "Last Night, Good Night" if that gives you an indication haha), but I genuinely enjoy pretty near all of Project Sekai! I enjoy how they've done the Vocaloids, how different they all are and how they embody different parts of vocaloid songs and the interpretations of the voice banks' personalities, and by extension, the fandom. While ProSekai can't cover ALL of the niches, I think they've got a decent variety. And while in another world I would love to have ALL vocaloids (or voice banks, whether by crypton or no) as characters, I understand why they just kept it to just Miku and co. I enjoy the characters made for ProSekai, whether main or side. I enjoy seeing how they have grown, how they will grow, and how they interact with not just their own groups, but with the world around them. I also enjoy the side characters, and how they also have their own struggles, and how, whether they be a good or bad person moral-wise, they add a lot of flavour and background to the main characters stories and struggles. I enjoy our main characters personalities. Yes, all of them, even if I wasn't as big of a fan at first of some, I've come to grow to like all of them. I also have found myself relating to all of them in some way or another. Whether it be Nene and her desire to do better despite her stage fright in the beginning and pushing through and learning from the critique of what she considers to be her strongest quality, or Ena and her struggle with her art, or Minori trying her absolute best and proving to not just others, but herself, that she can achieve her dreams and she can, indeed, be an idol that spreads hope (just for a couple of examples). Plus their singing! Sure, not every song may be a banger, but I enjoy listening to both the vocaloid and sekai versions of songs. I can't wait to see where the story takes them, especially since a lot of things have gone down as of late. Both in JP and ENG. I enjoy the gameplay and the art! First time playing a rhythm game that does piano-style, but I've been enjoying getting better at the game and playing with others. And the art has been lovely and I like seeing the themes and motifs that have been integrated into not just each set, but each character's card. Whether you choose to just enjoy it on a surface level of just being pretty, or if you choose to look further in to try to glean more, I find that it's a pleasant experience regardless. I know there's a lot of stuff going on in the fandom, and obviously not everything is perfect. Some events, cards, songs, and other media have been, well, cause of controversy, and I can completely understand why. There's also other things that can be improved, and as always, there are many different opinions as to how things can improve/be fixed. But I also think they have tackled some issues very well, and hopefully they can continue to try to do so. To conclude, I'm having a great time watching others create and enjoy the world that Colopale (and by extension Sega) have created. Hope you all have a great day, and thank you for making this blog! It's been interesting to see the many takes here, whether I agree with them or no.

so. its quite well known in the fandom that mmj and l/n songs are “slept on” by the majority of the fandom, especially global. and i think i get why? i mean, i was never much of a big mmj and l/n song fan either. but then i realised why:
i was choosing what to listen to based on either the intro or the clip that plays when you select it in game
so today i was like yknow what lets listen to proseka comms and covers without skipping a single song
and. wow. it was a really good experience actually!! like mmj and l/n songs have never been the type of music i listen to(niigo too) but. idk basically my take is
yeah l/n and mmj songs are NOT talked about enough by the fandom
dont judge a song by its intro/short excerpt kids 👍
(sorry for rambling😭😭)

idk if this necessarily counts as a hot take and i'm going off anon because I actually want to have a civil discussion about it but...
I don't like Append.
Maybe it's because I'm a new player, and it would make sense for it to be so, but I genuinely don't like it. The charts are eye straining, and while practice is important, the whole "three or four notes at the same time" thing really leaves an entire part of the game inaccessible for people with small screens and/or the inability to play with their index fingers. It was a great idea in concept, being able to play a song in full instead of the shortened game version, but I think they should have had it as more of a separate setting or subset of difficulties rather than a "ooh look a chart more difficult than Master 😱" sort of thing. I guess I just want to be able to play the full version of songs without getting ACTUAL carpal tunnel.
Any other opinions on this?

sorry if this doesn’t fully count as a take but i sure hope all this mizu5 stuff wasn’t for nothing. by that i mean the little area conversations gimmick they introduced
this feels like colopale saying “hey this is how far we can go with it” and it’d be a shame if they never used them again. obviously not all the time because then that would actually cause some problems with people trying to read area convos but i feel like pulling it back out every once in a while could be really effective for some event stories
forgive me for being That Guy using akitoya as an example but say they have an event where it’s like. main story level argument (which i rlly think we should get more of for all chars but that’s another take in itself). from episode 8 until the next event where it’s resolved we see akitoya in NO conversations together (duo convos, full vbs group convos, etc). i just feel like it’d be a shame if they do this Thing then never do it again
