I'll start: Johann Heinrich Füssli, The Nightmare for The Vampire Armand
My view of TVA is the classic gothic novel, in which the vampire (Marius) is a metaphor for what is a sin, prohibited, scary but tremendously enchanting. The forbidden fruit humans wants to bite because even if it's scary the pleasure is strong. Amadeo was a lost soul, torn apart by his trauma and his faith and in Marius he saw found his perdition, a beautiful, passionate, erotic and dangerous perdition.
