I can’t believe the timing of this video. This video had been uploaded just weeks before I joined Tumblr. I watched this video then; rewatching it now... I have chills.

I had no idea I really only understood half the references in “Deltarune Repainted”. Kris as Mettaton, I could get. The T-posing Toriel, I could get too...

But Susie as Jotaro? Mario pissing? Noelle as Vriska? How do I explain what it feels like, to not know this then, but to know it now?

How do you describe naievety to the Internet, once upon a time? The innocent dumbfoundedness and quiet confusion that is not knowing a particular meme, or not getting a particular reference.

I understand it all now. It sort of... hurts, how fast this is coming, all at once. It feels as if a curtain has been pulled back, and everything hidden behind had been revealed. I realize now that I only knew the tip of the iceberg; the ocean has now been drained.

At first when I watched this, I was crying my heart out. This was hilarious, no matter whether you get every reference or not! Now, years later... I am in jaw-dropped awe. I know more than enough. This video gives me nostalgia, bittersweet nostalgia, being coupled with bitter new knowledge.

I’m only describing I think the first ten minutes of this video, so I haven’t spoiled this too much for an one who hasn’t seen this already. Go check out this and the rest of the series if you haven’t already! It’s an insane mix of rapid-fire memes and references.
