Is it just me who feels like Gangle's plastic mask is an autism metaphor? Becuase she says "My comedy mask is usually broken by now" and throughout the episode she is clearly exhausted by wearing the plastic mask that can't break. I feel like that could really easily be a representation of how autistic people in service jobs are forced to mask heavily for long periods of time (saying this as an autistic person who works a service job) and how not being able to "break the comedy mask" (or unmask) is exhausting. I feel like, how Jax says in the most recent episode, the fact that Gangles comedy mask breaks every day isn't a bad thing, it's just a representation of their limit with masking. It's also worth noting that it's usually Jax himself that breaks the comedy mask, which could indicate one of two things, either that Gangle feels like she can unmask around Jax, or that interacting with Jax takes so much energy that she uses up all of her energy for masking with him. Let me know if you have any different interpretations of this!! It's not something I've seen super often and it felt like a fairly direct allegory to me so I'm wondering if other people have different viewpoints on the symbolism behind Gangle's masks!
This is exactly how I feel being autistic myself, not being able to unmask my self because I look "boring", or I look too quiet, I really get overwhelmed so easily, my comfort being so much the food, so that's why seeing Gangle represents me a lot, and we both like to draw (๑>◡<๑).
One of my friends reminds me kinda of Zooble, nyehehehe
