dan: here is an hour long return video script that i poured my heart and soul into. please learn your lines, phil, i spent a long time writing this, it means a lot to me. your part is very important.

phil:

Honestly I can't tell if Phil's cameo was symbolic and had a Deep Meaning because

He came through one of the doors that had Dan's Moments When He Wasn't Proud

He tried to distract Dan from dealing with the doors and in the end told him he'd be there

After Dan's least favourite door (the emo era) he started calling for Phil again

It was after/during the emo era when Dan actually met Phil so the timeline matched

Or if Phil just thought the video was cool and wanted to be in it so they put him in it just to annoy Dan with no actual purpose

i think it’d be really funny if dan knew phil wouldn’t learn his lines and just wrote “figure something out” or “speak” for every phil line. cos id place a bet that phil skimmed that script and called it a day.
