Also, fun fact, on multiple occasions toward the end of high school I seriously considered just stopping education and going to a monastery or nunnery or some such. Did you know Oregon has one of the few Buddhist monasteries in the States?

Turns out I feel too much responsibility to make use of my (expensive) high school education, so of course the solution is to go to (an even more expensive) college education so that I can (hopefully) land a really sweet job, and take care of everyone in my family in their old age for 5ever. (Hopefully. Maybe. Ideally.)

That, and I'm not convinced that sort of religious life is the most net positive to the world.
