While visiting Fredericksburg, Virginia, last fall, I had an opportunity to speak at the Geri Melchers Home and Studio. After my talk, I simply could not leave before supporting the gift shop. This 2.5-inch little vase whispered my name. I imagined the whispered words saying..there will be that singular branch, that subtle bloom with fragrance to be embraced up close and personal. A small vase, to be tucked almost anywhere, would be perfect...and here I am. So here it is. I actually revisited Fredericksburg, my old hometown at one time, to purchase another one. They were out of stock. I know now that when I hear the whisper, I will pay attention. Sitting here, smelling the sprigs of rosemary, I am reminded of the huge rosemary that used to be on Princess Anne Street. Brushing by, intentionally touching it, made me feel so good. I still intentionally brush by the rosemary in my garden, a purchase from Roxbury Mills...remember that nursery? Rosemary is the herb of love and remembrance. I still love Fredericksburg, and I remember so much of my time embracing the city.
