Genuinely curious with my asks how you rationalize all of this. Your angry responses suggest that I’m forcing you to reevaluate your thoughts. Tumblr is all about discussion/discourse. Why so angry? You can ask me to stop conversing with you or block me. But I really wanna know how you justify all the things I’m asking. Oh, and why should I believe you (a fan) over Dismantled & Maiden?

I...haven’t been conversing with you? I answered your asks. Apparently, I’m the angry one, not the clerith spamming my asks.  Benny Matsuyama was and is not a staff member of SE when he wrote the diary entires for Dismantled nor when he wrote Maiden. He was never involved with FF7 or the compilations development and thus did not know what Kitase, Nojima and Nomura had planned for Zack or Zerith.  I know you’re not interested in having an actual discussion about Cloud’s feelings so let me tell you straight facts: Cloud has always been in love with Tifa and those feelings did not magically vanish when he met Aerith. Cloud is under a false persona before he falls into the lifestream and gets his psyche repaired, as such the Cloud that Aerith is interacting with is not his REAL self. Aerith in the remake knows Cloud is fucked up, and knows that he would never actually fall in love with her if he was himself. Cloud’s actions after he regained himself does not mean he was in love with her or has romantic feelings for her, it means he cared about her, he has guilt over Zack took which is exactly why Zack was included in the movie. AC was released in 2005, CC in 2007. Cloud having a giant complex about saving people and feeling guilty over a girl murdered 3 feet in front of him with him being powerless to stop it and having PTSD over it doesn’t equate to romantic feelings.

In the Remake, Aerith states she must move FORWARD with her life in regards to Zack.

yeah and? Seeing how the story is going to be changed (or not) anything could happen.

At the end of the day, Cloud says he wants HIS OWN SAY on the matter. So even if it was about Zack, Cloud is telling us he WANTS HIS OWN SAY. How do Cloti & Zerith’s *NOT* understand this?

@gardensgrey It just really irks me that some people are taking an extremely powerful self-sacrifice she’s giving Cloud (because SHE LOVES HIM) and automatically assuming ‘Zack! This is SO about Zack! This is ALL about Zack!’ nnNNNo.  And you’re absolutely right. Cloud wants his own say in the matter and that’s also not something to be dismissed so lightly-- because his love for her IS real; So real it becomes a threat to his OWN SANITY and Aerith knows it...

It’s the same group of losers that’s been flaming us for a year now. They want clout from us, don’t give it to them. Cloud’s “facade” is trying to convince Aerith that he hasn’t already fallen in love with her. Cloud shows his “real” caring friendship for Tifa (in a scene not included in the credits). Cloud is told not to “fall in love” with Aerith because she dies. With the knowledge of her death, Aerith is trying to protect Cloud from future pain. Aerith brought the real Cloud to the surface when he had a real memory of his Mother telling him to have an “older” girlfriend.

No, it literally isn’t. Cloud’s facade has ALWAYS been that he’s an ex- 1st class soldier who was friends with Sephiroth, acting out a false persona based on what he wanted to be with Jenova actively creative false behaviors and memories. I’m not going to answer anymore of your asks because you don’t actually care about the story or the characters. You only care about your ship and uh, it’s not gonna happen. 

Cloud’s identity crisis is a huge plot point of the OG and one of the biggest mysteries that is finally solved during the lifestream sequence. You know, the scene in which he regains his true self?  Your interpretation makes Aerith look awful. She flirts with him relentlessly and then pushes him away because it’ll hurt him, as she continues to flirt with him.   “NO, TRAGEDY!!!!! WE CAN’T! IT WILL HURT YOU!” except she never actually says that. She never says that falling in love with her will hurt him, she never says that they can’t be together because it’ll be painful for him or cause him pain. (For that look up Solas breaking up with Lavellan from Dragon Age in which he actually says because it’d end badly for them both)  What Aerith didn’t say: You can’t fall in love with me, it’ll only hurt you if you do.  What Aerith did say: You can’t fall in love with me, even if you think you have...it isn’t real.

During Cloud & Aerith’s date in the park, Aerith states in regards to Zack that she must move FORWARD with her life.

“Date in the park” so the ultimanias are canon again? Hard for me to keep up with all the goalposts moving. 

And yeah no shit, she says gotta look forward not back. I.e. don’t dwell on the past. Zack is gone and sulking and moping about it won’t bring him back or help anyone, including Aerith. Cloud says the exact same shit in Case of Tifa about moving on with his life (right after your precious “I can meet her there” line) sooooooo where are the goalposts now? Fuck’s sake can you guys please keep a consistent argument. We get it, you don’t want cloti to be canon, you hate it, none of that is stopping cloti. Sorryyyy.

How come you omit the part where in the dream sequence, after Aerith says his feelings aren’t real, Cloud states that he wants HIS OWN SAY ON THE MATTER. Stop spreading misinformation.

Sorry Dansant, Cloud’s feelings for Aerith aren’t real, your all-knowing Aerith you insisted knows and understands the real Cloud better than anyone else just bit you in the ass.  Not only that but uuuuh Cloud not being 100% himself is a huge plot point of FF7 that you won’t be able to escape, he doesn’t become his real self until the lifestream sequence. Your materia jesus Aerith fucked you over.
