3 years ago, I bought this beautiful and unique ped on Craigslist.... I knew nothing about DKW, let alone the 1957 Hummel at the time, but couldn't walk away from her. Having not run since the 1970s, I knew she'd be a challenge, but didn't think it'd be quite as much work as it became. 3 years, 100s of hours, and far too much of my money later, thanks to Detroit Moped Works, she finally runs! At cruising speed of a solid 25mph and a 3-speed manual transmission, she looks and works amazing! Still needs some fine tuning, but man am I relieved that all this work hasn't been for nothing!
