Jesus Christ, you went all out for the Mafiafell Papyrus headcanons. I wanted to request a Mafiafell Wingdings Gaster. I read Solygbm, the comic version, and imo he doesn't get a lot of screentime. And hell! rarely see any content of him from the fandom, and i need me some crazy psycho old man content. (˵˃ᗜ˂˵)

A/N: why anon, we share so much in common, im just ever so glad i can do more of this crazy tired old man as a serving to my dear viewers~!

Wingdings would be the one, knowing that the name “Don” meant boss as well. He went with calling himself Don Wingdings Gaster, instead of letting people just call him “boss,” because at that time, “boss” felt more like a lower rank.

Wingdings would choose that name specifically, too, because “Don” was a shorter version of the word Dominus, which meant lord or master. Fucking egoist—he wants everyone to respect him and kiss his ass.

But if he ever found out about a nickname or title that implied an even higher rank than Don, he would immediately do whatever it took to earn that title, make people recognize him as that, and force them to call him by it.

I see you're interested in UT/DR so I was curious: what's your favourite silly little Gaster headcanon that you've either seen or come up with? My personal favourite that I've seen online is that the holes in his hands are due to a nervous habit and he's actually injured himself by picking through the bone.

I honestly don't have that many hc of Gaster myself, i was always influenced by popular hc back in the day where Handplates debuted.

So I have a little list of hc abt him :

- He has an untagible form after being shattered through time and space

- When he talks, his mouth doesn't move, and his "voice" echoes all around him, so he's mostly quiet , it's mysterious in a way

- Uses very specific formal language, especially when he works on scientific machinery

- I believe he mainly specialized in mechanics and engineering on machines to convert the heat of the Underground into magic/electricity to sustain the whole place. His research on determination came at the end of his career, and Alphys took over when she was made into the new royal scientist(I think this is canon ^^')

- Became metaphysical and omnipotent after he shattered, remained a scientist at heart and takes everything as an experiment, his main interest is the soul.

- Somehow related to the squelebros. To me, only his head is hard (there are cracks in it), but his hands are not(I'm still a sucker for squeleton-handed Gaster, though!!)

- His main relations (excepted the goners) is the royal family. He might have known Chara and studied them, still debating on the timeline of this.. He has personal quarters in New Home but rarely stays here, too devoted to work to do anything else.

- When he talks, he speaks with both his hands (sign language) and his "voice." He doesn't make an effort to try to make himself understandable to others. Other people have to translate his dialogue after he finishes speaking, THEY have to make the effort to understand him. When they do, Gaster even changes his dialogue, his hands talk about details while his "voice" speaks his thoughts. He takes this quirk to the max during his studies on determination to try and prove that monsters have determination in them, too. (His goners and the Royal family are the ones that got the furthest into understanding his way of speaking).

- Very polite in his speech since he uses formal language. It creates a sort of distance between him and his interlocutor.

- He has 6 hands max, and he summons them depending on the task "at hand" (badum tss). He prefers to have 4. When appearing in public to discuss his research, he shows only two (to appear approachable) but uses his other hands as a sort of pointer.

- Survives on coffee and nice creams, takes a hot dog every once in a while. (He is nutrients maxing, he chooses the food with the highest nutrients to time-of-consumption ratio) [yes a gobbles the nice cream down when he needs sugar] (that's totally inspired by the fact that he looks like an ice-cream).

These are the main hc I got for Gaster, if I have more, I'll add them here. Hope you understand the vision I have of him, and that it doesn't clash too much with yours !

I'm not saying I want to see more Gaster x reader I'm just saying it would bring me great amounts of joy and delight

prepare for great amounts of joy and delight then! ;3 hes so fun to write hcs for… the skrunkly….

- gaster is generally a very neat person but his lab can only be described as organized chaos. he loves when you visit him at work and will “forget” his lunch at home just so you’ll show up and bring it to him. this is a mix of him missing you, him wanting to show you off to his coworkers, and wanting to show you what hes been working on.

- much to your dismay, he doesnt exactly adhere to lab safety procedures. its an ego thing, he thinks hes too good to have something blow up in his face. you’d think he’d learn his lesson, but obviously not. its a running gag in the office how many times gaster has to use the chemical shower. one time you caught him drinking coffee out of a beaker and freaked out so hard you managed to get him to promise never to do it again.

- you are probably the only person on the planet who can get gaster to not do something he wants to do. hes stubborn, if he has his mind set on something it will take near god-like power to stop him. but with you, puppy eyes will suffice. he will be kind of huffy about it though.

- (the only other person who can hold a candle to your power is papyrus. i am a fan of dadster.)

- gaster is generally uninterested in social media. he has a facebook he hardly uses outside of keeping up with his friends and family, but will excitedly update his relationship status on facebook when you make it official. he’ll make a huge event about it, light a candle, pour some wine, put on some mood music and then cuddle by the fire as you both update your facebook statuses from single to in a relationship.

- he travels a lot for work and kind of drags you along with him. if you like to travel this is definitely a win for you. unfortunately because its for work, he won’t have a lot of time to spend with you, but he will always make sure youre not bored. he really appreciates you coming with him, so he tries to show that in little ways. like ordering you delivery or twxting you places he thinks you might like to go. he also treats you on fancy dates whenever he has time off. the whole shebang.

- he gets cold easily, especially his hands. theyre like ice cubes. to mess with you, he will stick his cold hands on the back of your neck and laugh when you shriek. he’ll insist to you he just wants to warm them up, but you can see his gloves hanging out of his pocket.

- knows how to ballroom dance and would love to teach you. he’s incredibly tall, like absolutely towers over you kind of tall, so it will be a bit of a learning curve. he’ll put on music and dance with you in your living room, unable to look away from you.

Ooooh hcs, I don't get many requests for those!! Ofc! I'm gonna do it for the request I just wrote, I can do it for different scenarios or different relationships if you'd like as well but for simplicity's sake I'm gonna write these hcs for the gaster/reader I just wrote!

Gaster x Reader hcs:

* Palm kisses. Both of you are weak for them. They are a staple in your household. Plz I'm so soft for them. Those and forehead/top of the head kisses man.

* He takes an interest in your hobbies and you take an interest in his projects. You have dinners where you just kind of infodump about your projects/hobbies and you both look forward to it every day.

* Your favourite date nights are the kinds where you're both learning something new together, something about the process of learning something with someone you love is just. The best feeling.

* Neither of you watch a lot of TV, but when you do it's Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune, one of those knowledge/trivia based game shows where you both yell at the contestants when they get things wrong.

* You teasingly call him your phospholipid (look up a picture, it's because the "head" is polar and kind of where everything happens while the "tail" or "body" is nonpolar) and he calls you his little quark (because they are a fundamental particle in physics and you are fundamental to him)

* You are smaller than him. Idk how tall you are, he is taller and he is absolutely the type to tease you about it. He is the type to use you as his teddy bear and you cannot convince me otherwise.

You’re right! He does have an ecto! :D

As long as it was before he went into the core. It’s a nice purple color, smooth to the touch, and feels kind of like you’re tracing your finger over a plastic bottle?

It has a small amount of give, and it’s not very warm at all.

The ecto shows that he’s a little underweight. Mostly, you know, because he doesn’t eat unless it’s given to him or he’s reminded that he needs to eat.

Would you mind sharing your headcanons for the Gasters in each AU? iirc, Red's Gaster who wrote the "PET" book is the only one that's been mentioned in EMV. I kinda got the impression that he was something like a father figure to the Fell bros, but maybe I'm misremembering? 😅. And what about the others?

I wrote a post about EMV gasters way back in 2017, although to be honest i hardly considered them for the story XD

i'll add on with some more info that didnt make it into that post:

Outertale Gaster built the CORE to change the accumulating energy and radiation being trapped with the monsters inside the barrier. He took Impulse (fukcing typos trying to make me look stupid XD) in as his apprentice until there was an acccident in the space station where his private lab was, and Gaster fell into the CORE where he was lost. Impulse developed a bit of a phobia from the incident and had to move as far from the CORE as possible to keep from having panic attacks all day.

Horrortale Gaster is basically Undertale Gaster haha

Underpatch Gaster had Sans and Papyrus as his junior associates for his soul studies. There was an accident in the lab and Gaster was torn apart, only to be absorbed by Sans and Papyrus, who became amalgamates. Garish and Green are the result.

Gaster’s magic is unpredictable, he can use bone attacks and his blasters but also he can do one more thing. He can freely travel between the normal world and the void as he is now connected to it. 

While in the void, he has control of the area, he’s spent enough time there and initially melted that his magic is connected to the part of the void he was trapped. He can do almost anything in the void, changing the looks of it, creating mirages etc.

Gaster would avoid going to the void if he can help it due to his experience in the darkness.

so. what does that good boi do when he’s really stressed/nervous?

Don’t really know who you mean by “that good boi”, so I’m just gonna assume it’s Gaster.

When he’s stressed, he definitely paces around a lot.

Don’t worry, he doesn’t do it in situations where it’s socially unacceptable. He’s learned to control it due to… Past experiences.

Something he always does, though, regardless of whether or not it’s socially acceptable, is space out.

Usually, when he does this, he can’t be productive. He’ll just... Stop whatever he’s doing to internally freak out for a few... Hours?

But when he does force himself to do things in this state, only 2% of his focus is on whatever he’s doing. He just rolls with it & assumes 2% would be enough.

Spoilers: it usually isn’t.

Like... He’s absentmindedly talked to other monsters in Wingdings instead of English before out of pure stress.

As for when he’s nervous, he tends to... Go quiet.

Y’know how Sans’ pupils disappear when he’s angry? That happens to Gaster whenever he’s scared or nervous.

Also, if he does end up speaking while he’s nervous, he stutters, and his voice gets quieter. The more stressed he is, the harder it is for him to form properly-flowing sentences. This tends to happen when he’s talking to people he isn’t comfortable around.

If he speaks to you without stuttering, that means he’s completely calm in your presence. And that’s saying something.

Also, he just gets really jittery. It’s like what he always says: “Who needs heroin when you’ve got adrenaline?”

Bonus: Gaster really doesn’t have much control over his teleportation powers. If you startle him, he might spontaneously teleport to a random location out of shock.
