A friend who I had met over the Lá na mBan project had invited me over for lunch at Sheastown. She also had some questions about computer stuff. So, we had a lovely lunch with produce from her garden. Before she showed me the computer, she said: “Can I show you something in the garage?” And I thought: “And that was the last that was ever seen of me. Lured into garage and butchered.” But I took the risk, and was pleasantly surprised: Her husband has a wood workshop there and makes lovely trays and cutting boards and all those kinda things from walnut, elm and maple (I think) . And turns out, she does lovely watercolours of landscapes and flowers. They’re preparing for The Autumn Gift and Home Fair in Dublin. I even got some vegetables from their garden to take home. So much better than being butchered.
