I’m a witch
Being witch “book smart” doesn’t make your connection better. I pray and worship the Santa Muerte in my way and she loves it. I dance for her, give her crystals, she guards my herb satchels, and she listens. When I go near her space I feel her. She radiates and appreciates what I do and my dedication.
I’m not a pro at tarot but still she’s there as I learn. I don’t know the properties and names of all crystals, but she’s there as I learn. Being Hispanic I have grown with this in my blood, it’s a natural connection, but still I’m learning. INTENTION IS KEY! Although some may say not to pray to gods/goddess/etc, without knowledge or experience, I agree to some extent, but if you have a pull do it. With dark matter take precautions, but with positive and light magic, feel free because it’s a safe place as long as you protect yourself and set your intentions. My dedication to the Santa muerte is lifelong and we are here growing together. She teaches me and I apologize for sometimes overflowing and crowding her space. She understands and knows I try my best, and will do my best because she’s here protecting me.
So please stop the gatekeeping. Many cultures, especially my Mexican culture, has always had a connection with magic and nature. I am no less just because a white witch has learned all her terms and thinks they can tell me what to do. I’m a green Latinx witch and my energy is for everything around me, I worship and thank it all, but making others think they are less just because they don’t have the resources to read all the books, does not mean they are less! It’s in your blood, and no one takes that away, we are all one. A witch with minimal resources has the power of nature and universe on her side just as much as an experienced witch.
