i got to see the jonas brothers in concert last night. {tulsa, oklahoma—bok center} you guys, it’s been over 10 years, maybe longer, since my best friend and i started to love them. we became best friends over them, we dressed up like them, we filmed our own music video, we cried over them, laughed over them, went to hastings at midnight to buy albums, saw the 3d concert in theaters, her mother even calls us her “sons.” but last night it all changed because we finally saw them together and i am so so happy. 💜

and we finally finally finally got to see them together.

i finally got the chance to see Hamilton last night and it was wonderful. it’s timeless. and i can see it lasting a long, long time—like Cats, Wicked or Phantom. if you get the chance to see it, i hope you can!

oranges, yellows, reds, and browns

my palms ache from climbing up

gripping onto your roughest boughs

when i can't go any higher

my fingertips graze the markings i left,

where i carved my name

into the middle of your chest

permanently etching my stamp into your flesh

i’ve heard time heals almost everything,

but it hasn't healed you

i hold your leaves in my hands

feeling our memories in your veins
