total honesty i never looked at black sails because i had the misfortune of my first - and ongoing - exposure to it being polyshipper m/f/m evangelists being all progressive het about ~*~she pegs her boys~*~ and escaping fallout fandom has given me a allergy to that kind of nonsense

i’m sure it’s great but anything that has that kind of intense infestation of idk monosexual discourse is like, no thank you

what interactions between the characters of the new campaign have you enjoyed the most?

I just love all the little moments where they drop the posturing and layers of deception and you suddenly get that sneak-preview of a year or two from now, when these characters are inevitably gonna be family. I find them all so interesting (and here I thought I’d escape the first campaign’s problem of “but they’re ALL my favorites”...), and as much as I enjoy the tension and mystery, after the I-would-die-for-you intensity of literally all the relationships by the end of the first campaign it’s so neat to see them awkwardly starting to fall into comfortable moments with each other.

I’m also just especially loving Beau’s interactions with so many of the other characters lately? Handing Jester a tissue and making sure she’s tucked in at night. Polite-conversation lessons with Fjord. Just the whole instant dislike thing with Molly: “Fuck you.” “Fuck you.” “Fuck you!” The thoroughly unsubtle flirting with Yasha. What a good.

I refuse to be anonymous: the thing I have consistently been struck by with your writing is your grasp of pacing, detail, and your ability to get into the heads of your characters. It isn't just that you include vivid details that give us accurate glimpses of their personalities, but that the flow itself feels professionally vetted and published. It reads like an incredibly readable book.

god, let me look through them.

I guess I just like... quiet dreamy, almost confused songs with yearning lyrics that are the tiniest bit foolishly hopeful, cause that’s how I feel about it. that little wrench to the heart. It’s easy to find angry love songs, or revenge songs, but it’s a little tougher to find songs that matched how I was feeling, which was like... that feeling of frustration and concern, or songs about regret. 

I also like weirdly cheerful, dreamily menacing songs like Van Occupanther, which are just fun to think about. It’s kind of rare to find a song that really matches the disassociative dreamwalking going on with him in that world state. IDK too many songs about wolves and dreaming and shit

Van Occupanther by Midlake is to me THE High Disapproval Solas Theme Song, which might not sound quite right at first, but like... hear me out, he’s calm, unaffected, unhurried, dreamlike, disassociating, hard to antagonize, with only the slightest pauses of whether he’s doing the right thing (“oh no I stumbled, was I going too fast?”) completely alone (let me not get down if I’m walking with no one) but he just keeps going along, he’s just slowly working on his own secret projects bringing about the end of the world (my science is waiting, nearly complete), he knows the end, no one knows but him, he’s very tired, he’s gonna fill the heavy buckets with water, he’s not going to ask these people cause he shouldn’t bother!!! (that chorus of “let me not be too consumed with this world” god my heart)
