It's really interesting looking back this year in the form of fics - I'm actually amazed how much I did this year, given that I was constantly struggling with writer's block and "I should write!!! Why am I not writing?!"
I started writing in English only last year September, so this has been my first full year in an English speaking fandom - and the last time I was in any fandom was around 2007 so xD This has definitely been a different year for me in fandom wise (also in other aspects but lets not go there hah)

James is crumpled sheets, still warm when Albus climbs in, the window always open, letting in the chill of the night. Milk dribbled down the table from careless cereal bowls, muggy air and fogged mirrors after James's showers, the scent of him lingering. Golden smiles that light the room, brown eyes like liquid warmth, always glancing over with a cheeky "what's up, lil bro?", teasing and tender, drawing Albus in but never staying long enough to settle. Scarves loosely wrapped around necks in the crisp autumn air, noses red from chasing him through icy December skies, always flying ahead, always out of reach.
He's the sound of footsteps running through the house late at night, the spaces shifting and coming alive with him, huffed breaths that always wake Albus up. Fingers in his hair, rough and careless, ruffling the way only big brothers can. Boots kicked off by the door, a forgotten mess of clothes on the floor. The scrape of a chair pulled too hard at dinner, the smell of burnt toast on slow Sunday mornings. James is sunlight spilling through curtains that should’ve been closed, a voice calling out through the hallway.
There's always something left behind - a half-finished conversation, a stray laugh still hanging in the air.
Albus fears this longing will never leave, this endless want that quietly consumes him.

Assuming Gauntcest to mean Marvolo/Ominis (and not any other combination of Gaunts), I honestly stopped for a second thinking wait, do I ship it? And then I remembered that ships don't necessarily have to be safe, sane or consensual, so yes, I think I do
I guess in this case, the ship would be a little misshapen paddleboat that occasionally leaks toxic waste into the ocean and has a kind of horrid fascination to it (which is the best kind, tbh)
What made you ship it?
It just sort of crept up on me, showing up here and there in the background of some Sebinis fics I liked, getting mentioned by fandom people I love, and before I knew it, I was into it?
What are your favorite things about the ship?
Like I said, horrid fascination. In my favourite interpretation of it, it's just this beautifully messed up thing where Marvolo has this giant, gaping hole inside of him that he tries to fill with Ominis by filling Ominis' hole sorry, going to hell for that
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
...I guess the ship itself is kind of an unpopular opinion?
Honestly though, maybe that I don't really see the appeal in it if it's consensual and the attraction is mutual. Mind you, I'd still totally read fics about that and enjoy them, but I can't really see myself getting emotionally invested or get that feeling of "yes, they belong together"
