He was tall with strong shoulders, thick biceps and a softer midsection. Gator pulled his hand away in surprise, eyes widened as he stared at the line of drool that was connected between your lips and his finger. Neither of you spoke for a moment, but you swore you felt something pulse between the two of you. Then he gulped and wiped his hand on his pants.

The rest of the ride was quiet, tense as you dropped your head down and sighed deeply. The numb feeling that settled over you wasn’t as good as what you would’ve normally preferred. You missed the days that you could drink without getting sad or angry. 

Sounds blurred in and out as the only constant you remembered was the bump of the dirt road, mainly because of the uncomfortable way it jerked your bladder about. 

You didn’t look up as Gator opened and shut his door, or even when he tugged the back door open. Your head kept dropping down, brows furrowing together at how bright the lights were. Probably at the stupid station.

You touched your arms softly as you stumbled, back slamming against the cruiser as a hiss left his lips. Gator jerked you forward, mumbling underneath his breath as he dragged you up the steps as you continually rambled. You weren’t sure what you were saying, but you were fairly certain you were talking. 

“Christ, do you ever shut up?” Gator huffed, his hands on your waist to keep you from toppling down the long staircase.

“I told you to shut up,” you wagged your finger at him, wobbling from side to side, “and do your chores.” You laughed for whatever reason, finding your own thoughts funny. 

“You got jokes tonight, huh?” He raised his arched eyebrows at you as you fell against him this time, your legs giving out as your chest fell against his heavy vest. If you were sober, you’d be mortified.

Gator grumbled underneath his breath, shifting you so he could drag you to your room easier. You were fairly certain he’d be carrying you if your feet weren’t lazily dragging on the ground. Or perhaps that was a dream. Maybe this was all a dream. 

Your head hit the pillows as you continued to mumble, words jumbling together as he had the decency to remove your boots and then tug your dress down your thighs. He even brought the cover over your shoulders as you instantly sank into it, soothing yourself.

Because what do you think of pseudocest caleb x non mc reader where reader is mc's twin. Reader is adopted by one of his higher ups in the Fleet and does not know that her twin exists in Linkon and Caleb, well... if he can't have MC, he can settle with you for now, right?

He thinks that he'll hate how you're the opposite of MC, so sheltered, so soft, and so naive, so eager to please him. You don't question him when he tells you to call him gege/nii-chan when he takes you for the first time, you just lay there with wide, trusting eyes, ready to give him your virginity. omg anon this is such a good idea and it's lwk insanely cute! i can totally see caleb just absolutely hating reader at first because how dare someone "copy" MC. he would think you're a knock off version, but since your dad is in the fleet, you come around so often that he's forced to be near you a lot.

he'll slowly start to see the differences between reader and MC, thinking you're just a little, dumb, naive girl — way too trusting. but once you really open up to him, he falls for you. he totally forgets about his romantic feelings for MC and they all gravitate ;) towards you!

i def think caleb would be a virgin too! he probably dreamed about losing/saving it for MC for them to do it together, but once he fell for you, that went out the window. you two share your first time together and it only makes gege even happier. him sliding into you, watching your face slightly twist in pain and your teary eyes just makes him love you more because you were willing to share this moment with him. he would fuck reader slow at first until she got used to him then he would lose himself, not stopping until you're a crying, twitching, mess on him.

Stating my position so anyone who wants to unfollow can: I fuck with gege the long, long, LONG way.

Stating my position again, but with nuance: Someone on Twitter said that Papergames does not use the pseudocest trope as kink, they use it as story-telling, so if you see kink, then "the call is coming from inside the house." I think that's a bit harsh considering how triggering even implied incest can be to some people (also they def use it as kink too I LISTENED TO VERDANT WETLANDS IN SIMPLIFIED CN), but I agree with the first part.

I get someone not liking the trope or being disturbed by it. I get people being sad that there are aspects of Caleb's character that they can't enjoy. And I absolutely get those people deciding to interpret or headcanon him differently according to their comfort level, especially since InFold is responsible for censoring the translation in the first place.

But what I do not get (or support) is shaming others, being hateful, or outright denial of who Caleb is.

The brother-sister trope IS there and it's not a translation error. It is VERY intentional because it has incredible emotional weight and narrative significance. Each LI has their own specific kind of bond with MC [here's a post I made on main about it] and Caleb's bond is about being from the same source as her.

Think of Aristophanes' concept of soulmates. People once had two heads and eight limbs, but then they were split in two and romantic/erotic love is those two parts seeking reunion. (I'm not culturally or ethnically Chinese, so don't read this as a one-to-one parallel, just a similar example.) Caleb and MC are not just "connected," they're the same. Dismissing that is dismissing an essential element of Caleb's character and his story completely falls apart without it. If you want an even-handed analysis from someone who isn't a huge fan of this trope, I think this video by SerenaN2D on YouTube is fantastic.

It may be a little weird to hear "baby sister" (I wish they would let the EN VA say "meimei," it would solve EVERYTHING), and I wouldn't have chosen to imply actual blood relation in Imperial Thronesong, but it didn't bother me and I think it was a bold narrative choice, probably my favorite Caleb card to date.

And on that note, Papergames may not necessarily use pseudocest as a kink, but I CERTAINLY FUCKIN DO.
