Ghostbusters Appreciation Week has officially started!!

So start sharing your love of Ghostbusters! We’re here to party from now until July 15 when we’ll get to celebrate having this wonderful movie for a full year!

Day 1′s prompt is Favorite Scenes, so what are some scenes you guys always have to rewatch? What lines can you not stop quoting? Which deleted scenes or alternate takes make your heart swoon? Post them in the Ghostbusters Appreciation Week tag and we’ll reblog them! The queue is officially up and running!

WE DID IT! IT’S HERE!! Our beloved Ghostbusters has officially been in our lives for one whole year! 

So let’s take a stroll down memory lane for this anniversary.

Were you able to watch Ghostbusters in the theaters? Was it during opening weekend or later in its run? How many times did you see it in theaters? Did you travel to see the movie? Did anybody walk out and immediately buy a ticket to the next showing? What were the audiences like in your showing(s)?

Read and Review Challenge

Ahoy there shippers! \0/ Now that Yatesbert Week is underway, it’s time to announce the Read and Review Challenge. This is a new challenge for the shipper weeks. Here’s how it works:

There are currently 126 fanfics tagged as Yatesbert on AO3 (this link should take you to them), and there may be dozens more floating around in the Tumblr ether. Your challenge this week is to read and comment on as many of these Yatesbert fics as you can. Whether it was just posted this week or it was posted a year ago, whether you’ve already commented on it or not, whether the comment is an in-depth look at your favorite lines or merely the words “second kudos!” -- try to leave a comment on every fic you read this week.

On Saturday, August 19, we’ll invite everyone to share their Yatesbert recommendations from the fics they’ve read. All responses will get reblogged here for the group to see.

Don’t panic! No one will be checking to see if you commented on the fics before recommending them. There’s no official tally, so you don’t need to report how many fics you’ve read during the week. This is entirely a personal challenge. The only real goal is to show our hardworking fic writers some love :)

Hello all Ghostbusters 2016 fans! This July 15, 2017 will mark the 1 year anniversary of the movie being released to theaters, and you know what that means!

Here's the deets: When: July 8-15 (Saturday - Saturday) Where: right here *points to blog* and also in the tag "Ghostbusters Appreciation Week" What: Lots of exciting events! Including daily themes, blog shout-outs, and organized rewatches. If we're all extra good, perhaps the fic fairies will even bring us some new goodies to read :D How: With your help of course! We're welcoming all 2016 Ghostbusters fans, regardless of ship or character preferences to come create, to gush, and to host some rewatches in their local time zone! Posts tagged with Ghostbusters Appreciation Week will get reblogged here for everyone to see. You can follow the daily themes or merely ramble your feelings away in a big ol' text post.
